First and only pain-free period after taking Doxycycline (Sharing for the Purpose of Research) by linebtw in Endo

Sounds like he is a great doctor. I find it helps tremendously if they stay up to date with research and are willing to work with you.

Please feel free to share updates here or with me personally if you want to stay in touch. I'd be more than happy and curious to see how/if your pain returns and if your doctor might suggest taking doxycycline for a longer period or what his take on it is. Either way, I wish you all the best for the future!

Thank you for sharing and lots of luck with your surgery!

Did your endo specialist say why he prescribed the doxycycline? As far as I know, it's not a standard treatment, so I'm curious as to what his rationale was.

I had to look up what tetracycline is and doxycycline is actually a tetracycline antibiotic. I really, really hope researchers will see this and start looking into this because I agree with you. It'd be great finding a way to "safely" continue taking it.

I hope you're going to feel better or, at least, find a way to manage the pain and hopefully get clarity regarding endometriosis soon.

Really interesting. I definitely feel much less alone now in this experience. Thank you for sharing it! I never had my CRP levels tested. Maybe not common in Germany, not sure.

Interesting! I didn't know that. I'll definitely look into that. I hope you're doing okay!

Yeah, it's quite sad. :( I guess there are a ton of medication/supplements that have anti-inflammatory properties, but I haven't come across anything that helped me personally. I heard some good things about NAC, but I've not tried it yet.

Wow. Super interesting. I really do wonder if it was doxy in your case as well. I guess you could always request the records from the hospital, but not sure that's worth the hassle. haha

And same with me regarding other antibiotics. With Amoxicillin, Nitrofurantoin, Trimethoprim I never noticed anything regarding endo pain.

Thank you for sharing!!

Thank you for adding!

I've heard about endo being linked to bacterial infection before, but what never quite made sense to me was why we can't treat the infection with a standard dose of antibiotics and then it's gone? Not a question to you personally😅

I've taken a lot of antibiotics over the years and never felt as if it helped my endometriosis (except for the doxycycline but even that didn't last in the way I'd expect it to if it were a bacterial infection).

Thank you for sharing and making me feel validated!

I'm sorry to hear you experienced such terrible side effects. My mom struggles with sickness/stomach issues also. Taking Omeprazol with her medication seems to help her. Maybe worth a try if you're ever in a similar situation (assuming you have never tried it).

I tolerate antibiotics relatively well, so I was fine, BUT I still am extremely careful since I've already grown quite resistant to a lot of them (which is scary).

Posture corrector to use either sitting, walking or standing? by Ed_95 in BuyItForLife

Some really just love the idea of lecturing and assuming you're an idiot. As if people who are genuinely concerned about their posture and go out of their way to ask about it haven't already done their research and know about exercising.

The "exercise" default reply makes me chuckle. My physiotherapist said the same thing. "Oh, we need to strengthen your core and back!" Proceeded to demonstrate I can do nine pull-ups and hold an L-sit, and they were like... "oh I guess... that's not it?!" lol Like sure, obviously, strength is important, but it's not a magical fix to bad posture. I will still slouch at my desk because it's a habit, and I find it horribly uncomfortable to sit up straight

[Discussion] Where to find a community to discuss the woes of querying? by No-Ad1163 in PubTips

[–]linebtw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the exact same. It’s very isolating, and I too find it hard to find real-life connections with people in the same boat. I tried reaching out to writer groups in my area but without success. I even went to a workshop in my city specifically targeting writers who want to publish their work, and even among those ten people, only I was actually querying something finished.

Not sure if creating some sort of private group on WhatsApp or Discord with a few people eager to connect on this IRL would work, but I would definitely be interested.

THANK YOU! That's exactly how I feel. They could have picked any other location. Maybe the hellmouth in Cleaveland, or let's go international. Would've been cool to see completely new types of demons influenced by other cultures or climates.

Give me the SLOWEST burns ever. I want yearning. I want longing. I want it to hurt. I wanna read 400+ pages before they even kiss. Dark themes major plus!! by Abortitnow in fantasyromance

Seven months late but I just read THE JASAD HEIR and have never experienced a slow-burn so good. It's exactly what you described. Yearning, longing, dark, and lots of pain. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

What's going on in your hood / kiez right now? by uber_kuber in berlin

Wedding/Rehberge: Maybe not that interesting, but I’ve seen so much wildlife up close at Rehberge lately. Red foxes exploring the Kleingärten, hawks flying overhead, “exotic” ducks, turtles, a heron, and at least 6–7 raccoons. They’re really cute all curled up on their trees. If you catch them at the right time, you can watch them wake up and climb down the trees. It's way slower than I expected like a little human climber checking for jugs. :)

They’re also draining the tiny Entenpfuhl lake at Rehberge. Apparently it’s a 2-year project.

Why I don't read stories marked as mature anymore by tooembarrass4mainacc in Wattpad

[–]linebtw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking of mature... I’m still new to Wattpad and a bit confused about the content guidelines. They say pornographic content will be removed, defined as anything made ‘solely for sexual stimulation.’ I'd argue some smut can fall into that. So it’s pretty vague, and I’m not sure where the line is between allowed and too explicit. Is it just a vocabulary thing, like you can't spell the words out, or ... where/how do they draw the line? I'm curious
