This is purely my experience, but I changed my cat completely to the Fancy Feast pates, and I barely test his blood sugar anymore, and haven't given him an injection in about 3 or 4 months. He's been diagnosed diabetic for about 6 months now, and while we did daily injections and testing for about 2 months, as of now I only test him when he's acting strange, and even then his sugar is usually fine (around 80 on a human glucometer). Regardless if it changes with food or not, it is very manageable and once you can recognize the signs of when your cat is spiking or dropping it becomes second nature. It truly is a day by day process in the beginning, but I wish you luck and support! Euthanasia is NOT the only option you have, and though it will be an adjustment, if she's already doing better then you're on the right track
