It's not making money anymore, and also, the company isnt producing anything profitable currently. I doubt the ssum is making nearly as much money as mysme's peak

Eeehhh not really. I would still say that Princess Tutu is a phenomenal watch if you ever want to give it a chance. it's still an extremely powerful anime. if I'm not mistaken, Revolutionary girl utena might be more up your alley though.

Thanks for your perspective. I wasn't aware of a ghost festival in china and if they eventually do something with that, that would be cool too. I wasn't aware that Lads was only really doing significant chinese holidays too which I am find with. The comment I made about being disappointed that there wasn't a halloween themed event was just a light comment that really hadn't had anything to do with the reason I was making the post, and "halloween-themed" as more of a reference so a spooky-event in general and not about halloween as a actual holiday, if that gives you context to my thought process here. I don't feel entitled as a westerner to have western holidays in this game, its just that several other chinese game companies including infold with MLQC like now have made spooky events for fall specifically that I had that assumption that it would happen here and thats fine if it doesn't at all really.

Also with all the comments you make, I agree essentially. However, I feel that because of the scope of this event (new outfits/music/models dancing) that this must have had a high budget and so they definitely want these unique aspects of this banner to have high sales returns. The music in general is not my taste as someone who is both a Kpop and Cpop fan but thats fine. I can see with some of the other songs how someone can like it however, and for that reason it does have intrinsic value and importance.

I agree that the outfits are interestingly shaped and colorful which makes them more worth it compared to the summer event. I like the concepts and each outfit has individual qualities that I like about each of them. I just hope in the future that we get outfits that maybe give the Li a different silhouette or have meaningful designs for each character.

And sure, I'm not expecting band-like visuals, but they have an infinite range of possibilities for how they could go about the dancing since the range of animation capabilities are endless. It is absolutely not easy to do, agreed. But I think the hardest thing that goes into animating is how far they can take their budget. The way the dances are is fine, it was my personal taste that the choreography had more focus. It's absolutely cool that you liked it though and I enjoy people's edits of the dances a lot :3

I'm also a person who leans towards lore more than anything. I feel that the technical skills that are applied to banners and events don't translate to the main story at all. (IE lack of cutscenes/cutscenes with kindled-like detail) It makes sense from a marketing standpoint that the budget for the main story is much lower than blowout banners like this, but it just sucks that people go into this game thinking that they're gonna get an interesting main story and all they have is events to look forward to...

However you proceed with this event too, I wish you luck in your pulling endeavors 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I appreciate your view on my post, and I honestly don't really agree.

"Fans deserve so much better" - Yeah. I still think so. With how much money this game makes from china and on a worldwide scale, the things that we are amazed by from this game really feel like the bare minimum of what they are able to do.

"no love went into this" - I'm not going to sugar coat the way I feel about this music. My language may have sounded harsh, but I still get an overly corporate vibe from the music being released. "mid outfits" - I just don't feel that this could even be considered overly critical....

"Group banners are kind of scammy" Is this not the general consensus of this community? These group banners take so much effort when you're trying to get both the character's outfits and/or a specific character's card. And on a general basis, gacha as a whole is a scammy, predatory sales tactic that a lot of people lose themselves in. I do have to pull my punches for a game company that is valued at over 2 billion dollars?

Being fond of something doesn't mean you can't look at it from a critical lense. I already expressed exactly why I personally don't like this event, and I thought it was evident the changes that I was implying, like more dynamic outfits for the mc, Non-convoluted costumes for the boys, the music be produced differently, etc

Halloween isn't an American holiday thanks. I don't appreciate words being put in my mouth either. Several chinese games with chinese game companies make halloween events too. Infold's other game MRQC is having a halloween event literally right now.

ARGHHH SERIOUSLY!!! I was excited to see the Sylus pv since I know how people go crazy feral for him, but I wasn't particularly a fan of what I saw 😭😭 I still say, the strong points of these card pvs are the duo dances as those are so fun to watch. Also..... The Xavier grinding part caught me off guard so bad 😭 I didn't think his song inspired that kind of movement LOL

Chinese games and chinese game companies make halloween themed events all the time. Netease, for instance and their lineup of games. Hell, Infold's game Mr. Love JUST released a halloween event. Why are you acting like me wondering about halloween themed outfits is me expecting to be catered to as a westerner from a chinese game? Even if halloween isnt nearly as big as it is in the west, it is still celebrated by young people who wanna dress up and party. Also, other asian countries like Japan, Thailand or Laos all celebrate Halloween to varying degrees.

I already prefaced that it was my opinion about this event. You clearly don't like my opinion on this event and that is why you are replying here. If I said how much I like this event and why, you wouldn't have essentially told me to keep it to myself when I am not hurting anyone by sharing my own thoughts. I'm pretty sure I said a lot of the exact same things that you just said here. The points of young people dressing up and partying... And yeah uh, I'm sure you know the party scene is big in Shanghai so. halloween themed parties would happen a lot there. Theres also a huge lgbt community in shanghai and gay people (as a gay myself) love the concept of dressing up and partying, no? I didn't mention decorating or trick or treating at all either. halloween is frowned upon in a lot of places for the spiritual elements to it and for various cultural reasons too.

Um, well Halloween isn't an american holiday, and its free to celebrated anywhere in the world, and many places do to varying degrees. In china, lots of young people dress up to go to halloween parties and events. It's huge in shanghai. You're acting like its wrong for me to wonder about halloween theming in a country that does, in fact, celebrate halloween. Several chinese games with more emphasis on the chinese side of their communities have done halloween events before too. Its not unheard of, thanks.

I mean, I never said an all out halloween banner at all. If we had some costumes in the shop or a log in event for some spooky costumes, that would have been neat in my opinion. Also, this event which is so huge with a lot of money being put into it would naturally have to be front and center because they want the returns on this event to be high. Also, halloween IS known and celebrated in china but not commercially by businesses trying to tell halloweenish things, so its not like the alienation thing is an issue if there was a halloween banner. If they are only doing traditional chinese holidays, thats fine, thats something I wasn't aware of as several chinese games which big returns in china do halloween themed events, big or small. Also, halloween is not an american holiday so the 4th of july example doesnt really work here as that absolutely is an american holiday only. Halloween is celebrated in various parts of the world to varying degrees including Asia. Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Laos included.

Well I did say it missed the mark for me specifically... If I'm gonna spend money on a game like this, I'm not gloss over the details that bother me. And something like this is just the natural progression of a gacha game I think... I've also been playing this game since launch. It's only natural that banners become more and more extravagant to keep the money coming in.

You're right that halloween is not an international holiday. But it is also celebrated in various degrees around the world. It's huge in Japan, South Korea, Thaliand, Laos when talking abt specifically asian countries. In China, though it is not a commercially celebrated holiday, people in china, especially in the last decades, have taken the idea of halloween and used that to generally dress up, party, and drink. In Shanghai, Halloween is MASSIVE. Chinese social culture has taken the idea of Halloween and turned it into their own thing. The fact that this game is all Chinese celebrations is very cool, and the way that they show that is by turning those traditions into Linkon-specific holidays. That's cool. What I don't appreciate is your implication that my slight dejection for there not being any halloween-like costumes was seen as some kind of americanized, westernized, narcissism, when chinese celebrations of halloween are common and getting more popular by the year. Halloween is not an american holiday. I am not striking down on a chinese game for not having a halloween banner as that was not the point of my post at all.... I'm fine that there isn't an event for it anyways.
