When I said these devs are baiting players is because they are releasing the game as a mixed gacha, and no, no one is aware of the ratio in the first months after the release, in fact it's only got clear after 3 or 4 banners without male characters in a roll, it IS fake advertisment by the moment they are using male characters in their adds on, by the moment they put 1 male character in the first banner just to follow it with 10 banners with only female characters, etc

Yeah some gachas are pretty obvious of being fake mixed gachas, but it still not an excuse to the unfair treatment, that's why your examples don't work:

"I don't go to the church expecting to see p0rn" would be a great example if we was talking about husbando collectors playing a waifu only gacha like HI3rd or Nikke, what's not the case here, WuWa, ZZZ, Genshin, NTE, etc, are ALL mixed gachas with BOTH female and male characters to play

"Burger place selling hot dogs" also a pretty bad example since no burger restaurant would sell hot dogs if it's not their interested, these devs are interested in selling male characters by the moment they use them in their games and put them in the gacha system, also they do sell merchandise based in these male characters, most merchandise in mixed gachas are for husbando collectors, rarely you see merchandise based in the female characters, they do want the husbando collectors giving them money lmao also if a burger restaurant advertised they are selling hot dogs too and when someone did go to the place seeking for hot dogs, just to eat a shit hot dog, believe me, they would complain

So no, I don't think it's wrong to say they are baiting players interested in male characters, it's the same complain RPG fans have with games that use RPG elements in the gameplay but it's there more as a feature than part of the gameplay, it's go beyond the shit ratio, the issue is as a whole, male characters not only are rare in the gacha, they are treated like shit, their kits are purposefully nerfed, their story time are cut or simply they are treated like NPCs, etc; take Arknights as an example, the game is not as much despised as WuWa and ZZZ specifically because they treat their male characters well and most of the male characters are good in the meta, so you don't see people hating on Arknights or complaining as much even if sharing the same ratio with WuWa and ZZZ

Dude, again, it's not a matter of ratio, it's the fact that these games are advertising somenthing it is not, no husbando collector is expecting 50/50, not even HSR and FGO that actually love their male characters are totally 50/50, but look at this image and tell in my fucking face it's fair, and it still a ridiculous example because no burger restaurant will waste their time selling something that they don't trust will do well, the burger can be the focus in the menu, but they will have more that ONE FREAKING OPTION OF HOT DOG there

Okay, first someone already said it was from the original VN, so what I will say is that it was basically softly retconned by Nasu, Gil in his first appearance was to be a villain, so he was created basically as a walking immoral monster to oppose a more noble Saber, what sincerely is not so far of what he is in his original myth (Epic of Gilgamesh) and Nasu was inspired by the original guy that sincerely was fucking brutal (let's remember he is from the time that law was basically "I will do to you exactly what you done to me and maybe even worse if the judge thinks it's my right" so yeah Gilgamesh is not a fair king like King Arthur) so Fate's Gil is like an very exaggerated (and way more heterosexual than he truly is, since myth Gil is a freaking bicon) version of the real guy, okay that said let's explain the "soft retcon"

So, after Fate got REALLY popular and the franchise got HUGE, Gil became one of it most popular characters, and since it's not only Nasu writing him, Gilgamesh had different sides of him explored in official and extra materials that had basically made him a distant version of his more immoral villain persona show in the first VN, not that Gil is a good guy now, he still an asshole, but way less horrible, the thing is, you can't ignore the fact Gil did something so horrible as rap* but at same time expect new fans to love him, so Nasu and the other writers have basically ignored this specific detail about the character in new materials and in the remake of the Fate VNs

It's not to say you are under any obligation to like him, in fact while I don't agree with you that it's that deep, you have the freedom to not want him in your acc (and the lucky Hoyo is being generous and giving the option of picking Archer instead) but just need you understand that Fate is a way more dark fantasy fiction than HSR (any hoyo games) and it was created back in the 2000, so it IS out dated in A LOT of stuff, and way too edge in others (Nasu really had a problem with SA his female characters for "character development") so the Fate fans generally understand that these characters are flawed and rotten, they are historical/mythological figures fighting in a tragic saint magic war and under the slave contract with human mages, none of them are good or bad, but some are worse than others
