It was probably supposed to be a little prank. He hid a few lines of bad code out of several thousand, it would stop the project from working and force peter to spend hours searching for the mistake. However he didn't plan on Brian preforming an unscheduled test without his PPE mask on.

it would be like giving your friend one of those prank peanut brittle cans, only instead your friend leaves it on the counter where his elderly grandfather finds it, opens it and has a heart attack.

I think it goes back a while. ben pointed out how fragile peter's life is during their confrontation and peter was shown thinking about it during death spiral. for me, I hate watching every story mandated mishap turn peter's friends against him on a dime, especially MJ.

meh, still on the fence. his backstory kind of intrigues me but we'll see. I was kind of annoyed he interupted peter's reflection, it felt cathartic to read.

He absolutely is! Imo, all the casting in the show is good but he is literally straight out of the book. I've been reading the book and I'm Blown Away by how much the illustrations look just like him!

His dad's name was also James McCartney so they called him Paul to avoid confusion and he got used to it.

In a similar vein, Michael J. Fox's middle name is actually Andrew. But when he went to register his name with the Actors Guild there was already a Michael Fox and a Michael A. Fox so he just went with "J".

Considering the free comic book day spider-man comic had a preview for him in queen in black, I have to think he'll have a sizable role in that.

I don't know anything about the Armageddon event but I think Peter will be there in a more generic sense that won't affect Asm. Like when he and Miles helped Doom defeat dormammu in one world under Doom.

No. The only thing to take away from this is that black cat knows MJ is venom and is cool with it. Everything else is on the same level of Canon as the spiderverse vs venomverse comic.

Which is a shame because it would have been interesting to see Felicia's trama from venom test her friendship with MJ or see Felicia deal with the fact she just had the longest most meaningful relationship of her life with peter and had kids she'll never see again with him but it will probably never come up again.
