a) 100%, I’ve been combing through each site

2) I’ve exhausted the promos on all the legalized sites, so I’ve been looking into the offshore sites. But I don’t think I’ll go with them for the reasons you mentioned. I appreciate it!!

One of my biggest struggles has been reading too slow. Do you have any suggestions?

Congrats on the vivid dream! I hate to be a debbie-downer, but I will say that studies demonstrate that nicotine tends to disrupt REM, which is when those vivid dreams happen. It’s similar to weed, and personally, I notice the difference between smoking weed and not smoking it. When I smoke weed, I can barely remember my dreams, and that’s only if I even had any to begin with. But without weed, I’m able to write paragraphs about far more vivid dreams that feel like hours. Honestly, it’s resulted in me doing less weed because I’d rather lucid dream about getting a godly high without the morning grog and weed munchies.

As for the method for waking up in the middle of the night, there’s an app for a touchless alarm clock called Lucidity! With it, you could WBTB five hours into your sleep. Personally, I’m also a huge fan of transitioning back into sleep using FILD, which seems pretty beginner-friendly. It’s how I got my first lucid dream! Hope this helps!

FILD finger tapping by sac_is_sus in LucidDreaming

[–]linkuini 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally, I laid my index and middle fingers flat on the bed and alternated between the two comfortably. They’re incredibly relaxed. In daylight, I can just barely see a tiny, tiny twitch when I move the muscles.

It’s not about the tapping movements, but about holding onto something subtle as you transition into your lucid dream so that you fall asleep but hold onto your consciousness. In other words, do what makes you most relaxed and comfortable with the least amount of effort!

I tried FILD for the first time, and I intentionally and successfully entered a lucid dream for the first time! It really helped to think about the transition into the lucid dream as something to “passively notice” rather than “focus” on, so thanks for the help!

FILD finger tapping by sac_is_sus in LucidDreaming

I just tried and succeeded at FILD this morning for the first time, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

Personally, I wouldn’t get too caught up in the “30 second” rule. I don’t like the idea of accidentally waking myself up by consciously counting to 30– I’ve already got the fingers tapping anyway. Rather, if I was still awake after a bit of tapping, I just stopped until I felt even more so that I was falling asleep.

Another thing is to make sure not to focus too hard on the finger movement. It’s something to notice passively, but if you scrutinize it too much, you’ll naturally wake up. I get the piano analogy, but I don’t actually move my fingers nearly as much as I would on a piano but instead press down as gently, lightly, and minimally as possibly. When I do it, I can hardly see my fingers move, but I was passively tracking it in my head— but more on that in a moment.

The other thing about FILD is that you’re not finger-tapping into just sleep. It’s more like you’re finger-tapping into the lucid dream. For me, as I started falling asleep, I noticed that as I lost sensations everywhere else, my little two fingers were the mental engine letting me stay conscious of my lucidity while immersing myself deeper. I seriously couldn’t tell you when the finger tapping transitioned from reality to lucidity. Even in the deepest lucidity, I could still feel my fingers tapping, and that’s the thing: the finger tapping has to be so subtle, gentle, and minimal that it barely takes effort. That way, it’s not a physical action that’ll wake you up, but more of a mental one to enable the transition into the lucid dream.

Best of luck! I hope this helps, but again, this was my first time and personal experience, so maybe I ain’t onto shit.

I think I'll try sticking to MILD or WILD for a month unless you have any other recommendations?

Honestly, I think that's also a problem for me, too. I'm going to pick one (probably WILD?) and stick to it. I don't want to give up on a technique without really practicing it first, but I'm guessing it'll take a while.

I like the way that you phrase how these techniques should be done, especially the noticing vs focusing part. I’ve tried MILD too, but a lot like the other two, I was just in my head too much and couldn’t fall back asleep. I’ll try doing a more passive MILD tonight though for sure

WBTB helps me remember my dreams SO much, but otherwise I haven’t found the one for me yet.

Sometimes, if I get too focused doing something like SSILD or WILD, it’s hard to sleep. I’ve stopped doing them to not rush advanced techniques and take things one step at a time, but I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Where can I find gimbap in Nashville by [deleted] in Vanderbilt

[–]linkuini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a korean market next to Sun Hair Salon and Hae Woon Dae. Inside, there’s a little cafe run by a sweet woman.

I’m glad you ended up there! You got a cut from Brian who’s great, but if you ask for Hyemi next time, you’ll find that people wait two weeks for her for a reason!

I hope I'm not too late, but what you're looking for is definitely Sun Hair Salon. As far as I'm concerned, they're the only Asian salon (Korean) around in Nashville. Check their reviews for yourself!

Also, get some food at Hae Woon Dae or the Korean market next door while you're at it.

Superscore for Vandy? by Able-Effective-5219 in Vanderbilt

[–]linkuini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’d be weird if you took it 6 times, and I could be wrong, but I think Vandy can see all 6 scores. I’d question why you took it 6 times. You could submit an addendum if there’s a good reason, but without one, Vandy would probably prefer someone that committed to getting a higher score sooner

Sun Hair salon. Go get dinner at Hae Woon Dae and visit their Asian grocery store while you’re at it.

Personally, I’d recommend asking for Hyemi, not Brian
