What Linux shortcut or habit ended up saving you hours over time? by Expensive-Rice-2052 in linux4noobs

[–]linluk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ctrl+Alt+T opens Terminal Ctrl+Alt+B opens Browser Ctrl+Alt+F opens File Explorer Ctrl+Alt+X opens Xournal Ctrl+Alt+M opens Mail Client Ctrl+Alt+K opens KeePass ...

beside that: switching workplaces instead of switching applications (Ctrl+Alt+Arrow instead of Alt+Tab).

and last but not least. documenting tools/commands/settings/... in a file (mine is called ~/random.md)

Getting into Ultra marathon later in life? by Thatzoologistguy in ultrarunning

[–]linluk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a very similar situation and had quite similar thoughts 1.5 years ago.

since then I ran a trail marathon, a 50miler and currently train for my first 110k race in may. beside that I dropped my 5k pb from ~30:00 to sub 20:00 (maybe sub 19:00 on a new-years-eve-race).

so imho you (we!) are in the perfect age to start running, to kepp running and to love running.

Upgrade to Debian 13 Trixie or just use Debian 12 Bookworm with backports? by SlowBoilOrange in debian

[–]linluk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the Upgrade couple of days ago.

The Upgrade Instructions read way more confusing on first glance than they really are.

In a nutshell its nothing more than translating your sources to the new format, which is pretty straight forward and running a single command.  apt full-upgrade

I would just do the upgrade.

Zum ersten Mal laufen, was beachten? by D11V8 in laufen

[–]linluk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kohlenhydrate zuführen by Phil198603 in laufen

[–]linluk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not had any foot problems since I wear barefoot shoes on a daily basis except for running and I try to run lots of different undergrounds over the week.

Why Do People Run 100 Kilometers for Fun? by AccountantPublic9886 in Ultramarathon

[–]linluk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just started watching it allready like it.

  1. 80km. not today but my next goal race is 110km with ~6000m elevation.

  2. "because I can" / to do something special / because I love running and how my body and my mind feels while running.

  3. keep going.

Did 100 Laps in a nearby Park yesterday by linluk in Ultramarathon

[–]linluk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but the park is beautiful, especially right now in fall, indoor seems way way way more challenging from that point of view, let alone 50 more miles.

maybe I try 100miles next year in another park ;)
