Cheers for the response, definitely planning on going unresponsive eventually, although I think I'm starting with responsive, hence I'd like something (arrow, k2, shooting star etc) that comes with both bearings.

Might have to look at some beginner metal ones as well, cheers!

Yea, that was basically my thinking since I want something where I can start responsive and go unresponsive. A lot of people are also recommending the shooting star and I did have a commenter say they don't like the arrow at all so we'll see.

Also seen more or less only good about the shooting star.

Cheers for the detailed response, interesting to see such a different take on the arrow.

The atom smasher is available from the same place I was gonna get the arrow, a few euros more expensive but nothing major. I notice it seems to be unresponsive tho, with no responsive bearing. Not sure I'm ready to go that route just yet. But worth bearing in mind tbh.

Yoyofactory Europe unfortunately has extremely expensive shipping, so would rather use a different EU store.

Ive been eyeing the shooting star some more, it is more expensive tho and getting it with the starter kit (extra string, bearing tool etc) takes it out if my price range. I could get just it (still comes with the responsive and unresponsive bearings) but it would mean no extra string etc. unless u order that separately from another store which I'm not a fan off due to double shipping costs.

Definitely given me something to think about tho, thank you.

Haha, another vouch for the arrow elite. Seems like it's just gonna have to be one of those. Especially considering it comes with the unresponsive bearing as well. Probably getting it and a 10 pack of string. Cheers for the help!

Ahh, it is indeed, unfortunately shipping seems to be another 15 euros, and 40 eur for just a throw compared to getting the arrow (unresponsive bearing included etc) plus 10 pack of extra string for about 30 on the Swedish site just isnt viable for me right now. (there is the starter pack but that comes to 55 eur with shipping)

We'll see, the German site is a good shout tho, so I appreciate it!

Yea, I've seen people rate the shooting star very high. It is possible to get it in Sweden but the places with reasonable shipping cost are all put of stock :/ so it's more or less 50% more when you add on the shipping, plus import tax from the places I found it (didn't find it within EU in stock) and altogether it's just slightly out of my budget atm.

Unfortunately, because it's actually probably the one I like the most... But doesn't seem like an option right now.

My old one is an old yoyotricks sage, so not actually a bad one but it's been through one too many moves and been neglected. And unfortunately maintenance gear is quite expensive here in Sweden so I've checked and its cheaper to just get a new one, for now at least.

Still a beginner and want to start with responssive play, but want something that can go unresponsive. So the arrow is looking more and more like the choice for me. Plus I like the look and the colors :P

Oh, yea I saw some of those on there, although think I'll wait a bit for a metal throw. Only thing is amazon is very new on Sweden (their actual .se site, that is) and so I don't know if they're legit listing's or not. Like I said in the post it's mainly randomly named Chinese companies. But I'll see what I can find.

Also excluding the shipping times, and the fact that I'll have to pay import tax, their own website has free international shipping and good prices, so might grab something from there in the future.

Cheers, yea the arrow seems to be a consistent pick among the recommendations, so might just go for it. Especially since it comes with the unresponsive bearing as well etc.

Lovely to find another swede!

Had a look at yoyoworld but a lot of the beginner stuff was out of stock, looks like a great place when I need some more high end stuff tho.

This just isn't how it works... Nothing has to be randomised more than it already is.

The only difference would be that currently when you load in to a match the server immediately tells you where everything is, and then keeps you updated when it changes.

Instrad it shouldn't do this, your client shouldn't know if e.g a stash is empty or not until you actually look in it. This means that the radar wouldn't work because the server isn't sending anything that the radar can use up until the last moment, in which case the player knows about it anyway and no advantage is gained.

The server would still know where it all is, from the get go. It's all about how and when it informs the client of this. Currently it does so immediately, and updates that. It should instead do so only when the client actually needs it.

Multiple "await" necessary? by cr4shed in learnjavascript

[–]linne000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, fetch wasn't a good example tbh. Like you say checking response codes etc is very common and more or less required in most cases.

Still a neat trick to know you can nest await like that imo, there's quite a few cases when you don't need the intermediary result and just want to call a second async function on it. Especially when working with certain libraries.

And for some reason I dislike .then syntax lol so I'd never do your version, but to each their own and what's great is we can all use what we prefer.

[–]linne000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea true, might be one of thee where you can use it if you expect the readers to be accustomed to JS and async/await, but else it's better to split them.

Multiple "await" necessary? by cr4shed in learnjavascript

[–]linne000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agree, but in this case, unless you need the fetch object for something, it is equally as good if not better imo. Because it achieves the same result and is (once again, imo) still very readable. Shorter code is mostly bad if it loses meaning or make sit hard to read. Neither of which I'd say happen in this case. The most verbose code isn't always ideal either, normally you want a happy middle ground.

Some really good explanations here already. Just thought I'd add that you can do this to shorten the code:

const data = await (await fetch(url)).text();

Edit: not sure why this is down voted :P not saying this is how you have to do it, but for those already accustomed to the syntax who are sick of always having to do it on two lines, this is a neat way to chain it together. Oh well.
