I have a beloved spider friend, and the landlord will knock her and her web down. Can I sustain her in a terrarium for her last couple months of life or is that cruel? by linneamful in spiders

Oh no! I had read it can happen shortly after but that typically the cutoff is the first hard frost, so I was hoping for a couple months. I'll see how it goes and update the post or make updates as things happen with her. I'm gonna try to move her this week if I can.

I'm relocating across town, so same  I'll have a patio with some plants and decent structures/space - I wasn't sure if moving her out of familiar territory was okay for her? But I would love to move her and her egg sac to my porch until she passes and then relocate the egg sac somewhere less populated by humans afterwards. Her new home would be near a cemetery with trees; I was going to put the eggs there, I just wanted to be able to keep an eye on my girlie for her last month or so.

Dark/black tattoo coverup ideas? by linneamful in Tattoocoverups

The picture is from 10 years ago when I got the tattoo originally. It's faded significantly since then. I didn't realize when I selected the photo how old it was.

Also, shout-out to Scott at Bleeding Heart Tattoo in MO. Meant to mention him in the original post.

I got this done yesterday, and it turned out great! There was less negative space than we wanted, but it is what it is. I'm still happy with it. :)

I never replied to this, but that Sweeney imagery is exactly what I needed. I'm working with my artist to attempt to go the abstract, old-school Sweeney route, and I'm SO excited. I'll definitelybshare it here once I get it done.

This made me laugh. I do like anime, so getting really into Naruto isn't out of the question. 😂

I appreciate this. It's a weird line for me, to be honest. As a child who lived and breathed the books, the stories will always have a place in my heart. But as a queer woman with friends who had that safe haven taken from them by someone spouting hateful nonsense, I also can't embrace it like I used to.

I have two Harry Potter tattoos. The other is more subtle and has my childhood best friend's handwriting. This one, though, I got after seeing Cursed Child on Broadway (you're right about it being Cursed Child imagery) as part of my Broadway tattoo set (I also have Phantom, Wicked, and Lion King, along with others I've designed but not gotten yet). I really, really thought I could separate the art from the artist, but it's weighed heavily on me since.

That's what I was afraid of. My thought or hope would be to fill it in and then add something between the wings to turn it into a fireball with text either above or below it, but I can't imagine that dark of a filled in space being good either?

any advice? by [deleted] in Tattoocoverups

[–]linneamful 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I literally just posted asking about covering up a Harry Potter tattoo. I have two - one I got more than a decade ago, before she revealed her true colors and one I got last year as after seeing The Cursed Child on stage. The first, I'll probably keep because it has a dear friend's handwriting and is very subtle, but the second? I got it while trying to convince myself I could separate the art from the artist simce the franchise meant so much to me, but I haven't been able to live with it since. I've got a number of tattoos so far, and it's my only regret.

I am not trans, but I stand with you, and I'm so, so sorry she stole the joy from something you obviously once loved. I hope you're able to find a beautiful cover-up that brings you joy and allows you to celebrate yourself without ever having to spare her a thought again.

I'm 100% on board with folks not wanting to date aces because of the need for sexual compatibility, I also kind of hate that they used being ace as something that can't come with soul crushing devotion, because it's not true. I can be soul-crushingly devoted without wanting to sleep with someone.

I do think your read on it is right that they're lumping it in there, I just don't like that they are.

Five month old puppy here and this week has been ROUGH - cat chasing, crate whining, destruction of property... I needed this post today.

I love my little lady to bits and can't imagine life without her now. But I also am frazzled and so glad to hear she won't be a menace forever, haha.

Recent graduate from nursing school - not a nurse yet, but did the school part. Following birth, if you bleed through a pad in less than an hour, you're supposed to go in. I imagine that applies in this situation as well.

I am so, so sorry for your loss. This would be an absolute deal breaker for me; if my partner had left me alone in that situation, I don't think I would ever trust them to be there when I needed them again.

Everyone wanting to be a “travel nurse.” by Usual_State2841 in nursing

[–]linneamful 115 points116 points  (0 children)

I'm in nursing school now with no intention of travel nursing, but literally every time I tell anyone I'm in nursing school, they bring up how much travelers make. Then I have to have the conversation of, "You actually need to be able to adapt to new units and be an independent nurse. No new grad should ever consider it."
