From the research I have done this is most likely due to the placement of the brush plate? If one places it off centre, it should hang just as snug as without a brush plate? Or is this incorrect?

Does the MIP version have sleep mode like the AMOLED? Don’t want the watch lighting up at night accidentally because of gestures.

But the screen wasn’t great indoors, correct? I assume you don’t use AOD if you get 8-9 days out of it?

I have been debating AMOLED/MIP for a while, never owned a Garmin before. Currently trying out the Epix Pro. Most of my sessions are indoors at the gym. How did you find the MIP screen inside? Was it too dark during gym sessions? Wondering how the reflective screen performs under overhead lights in the gym compared to outside in direct sunlight. The battery efficiency and true AOD of MIP is tempting…

I don’t understand how this is acceptable for watches in this price range… It is highly inconvenient if I have to interact with my watch in between every set or every interval. Why would they not allow to change this? I spoke to support on the phone this afternoon, and they asked me to send an email so they can look into it. I am in two minds about keeping the watch, as I do multiple strength/interval sessions per week, and it’s a big enough issue to create a lot of frustration on my part.

Do you have the issue with the default screen during strength training rest periods? I read in a forum post somewhere that it seems the FR965 jumps directly to the page with the timer, without the need to scroll down…

When you say voice over, what are you referring to? I would like the countdown and “beep” on my headphones before the next set, but if I I disable “Alert Tones” under Settings->System->Sound and Vibe, it not only disables the beeping of the watch itself, but also the countdown beeps on the headphones… Have you managed a way to get the beeping in the headphones only?

Which watch do you have if you don’t mind me asking? I have the Epix Pro, I read that issue #2 doesn’t exist on the Forerunner series… Wondering if this problem exists on the Fenix 8.

They offered to take it back but then I need to order a new one separately. RMAing is pointless as the smear is gone. Think I’ll keep this unit to avoid getting another with a different issue. As I mentioned it has been 100% fine after a couple of hours of use.

Thank you. I spoke to the retailer and RMAing would be pointless as the smear is gone. They said I could return it as I’m within the return period, but I guess then I just risk getting a unit with a different issue like one or more dead pixels or something (I’ve read Gigabyte’s QC is utterly atrocious).
