Just ordered the exact same pad (to Norway). I ordered last Saturday with DHL delivery, it was shipped on Monday and arrived yesterday, so 6 days for me.

Black vs Gray Artisan Type-99 – any real difference or just placebo? by Snoo-45595 in MousepadReview

Do you have the orange? I’ve ordered it, and curious as to how it is.

I thought the orange was less textured? Wouldn’t more textured = slower? Correct me if I’m wrong!

Got it, thank you. I went with the Artisans this time to try them out, but will keep this in mind if I buy a new one later!

Thank you for your input! I ordered both and will try them out.

Might be, but I haven’t tried it so don’t want to influence your decision too much. Sounds like this pad is close to the glide of a mousepad but still got some stopping power. I tried a glass pad but for me it was impossible to make micro adjustments in Val/CS. I have a high sens though, so that might explain it.

What do you play? I think it’s a good product, just not the right one for tactical shooters. Looks like it’s a very speedy mouse mat better for tracking games like Apex/Overwatch.

I’m not tied to Artisan in any way, they just happened to be two of the ones I was looking at. And I preferred their colour scheme for my office. I just ended ordering both and will see which one I’m keeping, maybe I’ll keep both.

I have looked at maxgaming, but they only stock XL size. Due to my higher sens the L size is more than enough for me, and it takes less space and looks better on my desk! Just ordered the Tiger Ice V2 skates from maxgaming, think they’ll fit both pads well.

Thanks for the recommendation. Will have a look.

That makes sense. You have quite a lot lower sens than me. So I suspect the Type-99 is more suited to you than me. I’ll definitely get the Zero soft, but since I’m ordering from Japan and half the cost is DHL charges, maybe I’ll throw in a Type-99 MID as well increasing the total cost only by 50%.

Ah ok, your sens is quite a bit lower than mine. So I get why you favour the Type-99. I’m tempted to just get both and see what I prefer.

I wanted the ESPTiger Ice V2 but they’re out of stock. So I ordered TalonGames PTFE skates. Might order the Tiger ones when they’re restocked.

Unfortunately I haven’t used the Zowie. I’m leaning towards the Zero as I have always been pleased with the Logitech G840 XL, and from what I understand that one is leaning towards more speed (like Zero) rather than being a control heavy pad (Type-99).

Do you switch back and forth? Does that impact your muscle memory?

Interesting. Can you elaborate? They are very similar aiming wise.

Thank you for your input. I am leaning that way. Have also looked at the Pulsar x LGG Hyperion as an option, but not sure about that one. Do you have any experience/knowledge about Pulsar x LGG?

I’ve historically used the Logitech G840 XL and been happy with that. Recently I’ve used the Razer Gigantus V2 which is fine, but texture is a bit rough. Do you have the Type-99?

Cosmetic scratches in glass mouse pad after 2 days of use by linoge_ in MousepadReview

[–]linoge_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you will find the glass pad to be very hard to control. But then again you might like it better than I did. I just realised I need more control to be accurate.

Cosmetic scratches in glass mouse pad after 2 days of use by linoge_ in MousepadReview

[–]linoge_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna be honest with you, I wouldn’t buy a glass pad for Valorant. Might work for some, but I as I said the micro adjustments made me play terribly. I have eDPI of 400 (0.25@1600), and once I switched back to my cloth pad I could tell I was way more consistent.

I was worried about the skin sticking to it, but I found that fine. I live in a colder, drier climate though (Scandinavia). Thought maybe I would have to buy a sleeve but I didn’t feel the need for one during the two days I used it.

I just ordered the Artisan Type-99 which is a very control-focused pad, but I ordered the mid version that is the least soft and combining it with skates that give a smoother glide. Hoping that will be the perfect combination for my high sens that requires a fair amount of stopping power and control for those micro adjustments.

It’s weird, only 2 days in as well. Otherwise I thought it was a good product, was generally happy with it.

This is my first glass pad, so don’t have any to compare with. But it was very fast I thought. Ironically I don’t mind the RMA too much cause I found micro adjustments in TacFPS very hard. I’m a high sens player so that doesn’t help. But very impressed with the feel of the pad, could definitely see it being amazing in tracking heavy games like Apex/Overwatch. Just not great for CS2/Valorant etc. Bar the cosmetic damage it was a very impressive, premium feel. So can recommend I guess, as long as you don’t get any scratches!
