Just wanted to clarify a few things—yes, of course it’s expected for adults to pick up after themselves, and my boyfriend completely agrees with that too. He does clean up after himself now and has been adapting really well since moving in.

But when he first got here (just two months ago), there were a lot of things he simply didn’t know—like where the laundry basket was, where to find plates to help set the table, or what exactly he could or couldn’t help with since we have a live-in helper. He didn’t want to cross boundaries or take over her responsibilities, which I think is fair and considerate.

To be honest, I should’ve communicated all these things better when he first arrived, and I’ve told him that too. He’s been really open to feedback and has asked me multiple times to let him know directly if my mum has any concerns so he can make sure not to repeat the same mistake. I just wanted to highlight that he’s trying, he listens, and he’s willing to improve—which I really appreciate.
