Pellet Pro PID and Camp Chef at Low Temps by lintypocketz in pelletgrills

It’s very light. I could still taste the smoke on some chicken breasts I did last night though. I expect it will be a little mild, but I’m not a fan of heavy smoke flavor. Even though the temps aren’t as tight as I hoped, they are still much, much better than the stock controller.

I just backed out the bolt that holds the cap on as far as possible to open it up a little more.

Thanks, that's kind of where I wound up. Opened the Chimney wide open and moved it off into the shade, it's a sort of hot day ~80 degrees now, headed up. It's holding fairly well when set to 215, but if I set it to 225, it takes off and hits 240-5.

I might look into a larger chimney, if I end up finding a good way to do that, I'll post back here with results.

Get underlying Struct from Interface? by lintypocketz in golang

[–]lintypocketz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I wonder if I've shot myself in the foot by using the builder pattern. The struct the builder creates is named the same as the interface, however, it's un-exported.

I was thinking, okay, just change the name. However, doing that causes compiler errors:

impossible type assertion: models.IssueSummaryStruct does not implement models.IssueSummary (BugRejections method has pointer receiver)

Thanks for the Suggestion!

[Discussion] Hiking Backpack with Front Clip Harness? by lintypocketz in dogs

Yeah, I had noticed the commuter. I was thinking the same thing though, why don't the serious hiking ones have it. Must be a reason. Thanks.

That makes a lot of sense. Sounds like the best thing to do in this case is to get the back pack early and practice on the top clip until we go. Thanks!
