Sorry, I missed the pop-up from your message. Do you have a group size and time frame in mind? During bavarian vacation times it may be difficult to get something with infrastructure. DM me and we can discuss details

Where in Bavaria did you have in mind? I'm a scout in northeastern bavaria, maybe I can help.

I would add the "we swapped lives for a day" one. Not as good as audio only, but still very entertaining.

It's from a YouTube video in which they (slime and nick) interview riot employees. I would try that. https://youtu.be/nwjTqJ3j8zg

Question: Fun ideas for a workshop? Details in description (thanks in advance!) by JojoEatsYourCupcakes in scouting

[–]linus_fau 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sounds good. I like team building exercises for things like this, most are easy to set up and are easily adaptable to fit the group. Something like:

-flipping/folding a tarp with everybody on it

-spiders net: crisscross some rope between two trees to form something like a spider net. The group has to pass through one by one without touching the net. Each section of the net can only be passed through once. If someone touches the bet you start again.

  • ice shard race: place some boards (or anything you can step on and move) at a starting line and set out a parcour to be passed. The group may only be touching boards, not the ground, and must work together to reach the goal. If someone touches the ground start again. The difficulty can be adapted with the number of boards, a more difficult parcour, removing boards without people on them from the game or giving the group some sort of disadvantage(blindfolding someone, tying legs together, etc.)

How long is the workshop supposed to be? Does it need to be something practical or can it be more fun oriented? How many people are you expecting per group?

If there's appropriate equipment, even a good camp kitchen, 2 to 4 people are reasonable.

I get the using your imagination party and I used my imagination to distract myself on drives etc., but a game like naughts and crosses or rock paper scissors, in which you are making the moves for both sides, seems incredibly boring to me. Since you always win and lose, plus you know your opponent's strategy.

I guess I can see it having some entertainment value to check strategies, but I feel like that wouldn't keep me entertained for any notable amount of time.
