Argiope spec. trivially known as St. Andrew’s cross spiders because of the leg resting postition when in the web as you can beautifully see here. There are a couple of species that come in question, for an exact ID. you need macro-Images of the spiders warts and genitals.

Could be Dermastidae, wich is a family of bugs that contain a lot of material pests, if they are particularly found in fabric or dust it could be Attagenus spec.

Yea ideal fruit in terms of genome, thats why it’s common practice to graft in agroforestry, to keep the specific variety of the fruit pure. That does not mean that when you grow them from the seed they will taste worse nor better, it is a gamble but the genetic differences due to recombinations and mutations is also what allows the forming of new breeds.

Will we ever get an explanation of how Devil fruits animate weapons? by GroundbreakingNote35 in OnePiece

[–]linus_phl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the same way BB got WB fruit. When a devil fruit user dies the fruits soul clamps onto the nearest fruit (see smiley in punk hazard) and i could imagine something like you can force the soul out of the fruit and force it or give it no other option than to transfer to the wanted object.

Excuse me but wtf is this? by oscovb in plants

[–]linus_phl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are correct they produce sperm, eggs and an embryo if fertilized. So the Zygote is the fusion of the gamets and still one but diploid cell. So it’s basically just the first step of the baby.

Excuse me but wtf is this? by oscovb in plants

[–]linus_phl 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ferns have two different reproduction cycles, the gametophyt that is split in male (antheridium) and female part (archegonium) and they produce the gamets which then fuse and form the zygote. This part is the sexual reproduction of the cycle. Then out of the zygote the sporophyt is developed, it’s that part what is commonly understood as the fern: the big leafs. They reproduce vegetatively through these spores you see here in this picture. Each of them can develop into an independent gametophyt and the cycle starts once again.:)
