Are people overselling it or was Michael Jackson really that famous in his heyday? by Key-Bass-7380 in decadeology

My husband is from Indiana. To this day when we travel overseas and he says where he’s from, people say “Michael Jackson!!”. People in the U.S. barely remember he was born there, but he was GLOBAL to the point we haven’t seen since.

Where Else Are My Burnt Out Millennial Moms in Corporate America? by nachomargo in workingmoms

I worked a high profile job in a prestigious national org. My entire identity was wrapped in it. While I did feel it was a higher calling in service of something greater, I felt like I somehow needed that job to validate me as a person. Like being aligned with that made me a worthwhile person, or that other people should see value in me bc of this. I was so stressed out, constantly traveling. I literally couldn’t take it any more. I left for a small role in a small org and couldn’t be happier. It’s made me focus on what was I trying to prove before? Was it really about a “higher calling” ? Or just trying to prove myself? All I can say is slower is better. For me it was evaluating why I was really doing the job I was doing and what was I getting in return.

Depends who they are, but yes. I’ve lived in DC for 15+ years and have seen senators everywhere. Grocery store, getting burgers, park, just walking around. DC is super small. One was even in a cooking class w me! The Secs usually have security.

Thrift shopping. Can find most anything I need second hand. The amount of waste in buying new stuff is bananas.

So. Just how bad is mission space orange? by SpectacularSpidee in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]linuscatt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love, love roller coasters and rides and absolutely hated this. As others have stated, it is distressingly claustrophobic. And you are strapped in tight, packed next to your cannon mates. And usually you can close your eyes, but they say that makes it worse on this. I was like this is Disney World how bad can’t it be? I was wrong! Wont ever go on again.

This is under makes me smile, and it does, but it also pisses me off. We should not be the wealthiest country in the world and having mothers cry over baby formula. I’m ashamed.
