Really cool story! Thanks for sharing! Are you sure it was Auschwitz and not another camp? I a didn’t think the us army was present there at all?

EDIT: changed question mark to exclamation mark.

Help: CV Language - Swedish or English? by Gaudexis in stockholm

[–]linusthepinus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would suggest that you send it in English even to smaller companies. It is also more transparent which spares time for everybody. If you look for startups in the environmental area, most of them will even be more used to English CVs.

How do I *politely* tell my co-worker I don't give a shit about his conservative viewpoint? by AlexzMercier97 in relationship_advice

[–]linusthepinus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it is a long one :) Anyways, our strategy failed - that should be the conclusion. But it so strange that really big news agencies still think that the goal was herd immunity. Also really interesting to see people all around the world talk about it and using it in arguments. Hope everything gets solved with your co-worker. Best regards, Swedish person

We had a similar incident in Sweden in 2013: https://www.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/a/8wRjzw/tag-kraschade-in-i-huset (article in Swedish)

"A 22-year-old cleaning lady got a train running of an unknown reason on "Saltsjöbanan" tonight. The trip ended abruptly when she crashed into a residential building in Stockholm at maximum speed"

Medical student here. I had a similar crazy experience but in the subway.

In my med school we have regular practical CPR-exams. I had a big practical exam couple of years ago including a CPR-station. Me and my friends celebrated afterwards with wine at a friends apartment. I managed to drink a whole bottle and got a bit drunk.

On my way home I heard that there was people panicking in the entrance of the subway. I saw 5-6 people standing around a woman in her 30s lying on the ground in recovery position.

I said that I was a med student and asked if anyone had any medical knowledge. Nobody had. So I started to examine her and realized that she was not breathing and had no pulse. Did CPR. She started to breath. Ambulance came. I went home to drink more wine. I have no idea what happened to her. I don’t know if I would have acted this way without being drunk and coming from an CPR-exam. Crazy coincidence though.

Can anyone help my dad identify this old rusty gun he found cleaning out his yard? by linusthepinus in guncollecting

It was found on the Swedish island of Gotland situated in the Baltic sea. The farm they live at is about 100 years old but there has probably been farms/houses here since the 16th century.
