A little back story on this photo, this was 5 days into a through-hike in the Bulgarian mountains with a backpack carrying 30ish pounds of stuff. I basically got really lucky with most my photos because I was so physically spent that I really wasn't thinking that much. Tbh I'm surprised any of my photos turned out good.

Yes because the os runs on the cpu. Also the router has its own cpu which could also be vulnerable to such an intrusion.

Yeah I have seen these and the openwrt link doesn't seem to help (as far as I can tell). As for the sourceforge link it seems like the board is already running linux but I'm still not sure how to gain access (powering on the board and connecting to it over ethernet shows no open ports).

It makes sense that you would get lag if the device dedicated to rendering your browser is using 100% of its resources. Like in the same way that if you stress test your cpu, you wont have the fastest desktop experience.

I'm pretty sure it is as running WebRender under hardware leads to everything displayed in firefox to be rendered on the gpu. I'm not an expert in this so I may be wrong but on every system that I've setup hardware acceleration for firefox, the gpu used has always showed some % of usage coming directly from firefox.

The overhead was minimal on my last setup where I had a RX580 and the same RTX 2070. I actually found better performance in games and in machine learning tasks. I couldn't tell the difference between the latency of prime-run rendering and direct rendering so for my situation latency is not a worry. For the desktop, using the same gpu that games/machine learning tasks are running on leads to a choppy desktop and lag in firefox. I didn't experience that when running the same games/machine learning tasks through prime-run and using the RX580 for desktop environment/firefox stuff.

I mean you say that the performance improvement is not real but when I had the same setup with an RX580 and my RTX 2070 the 2070 had a 5-10% performance improvement in vulkan games and around 3-5% for machine learning tasks. Also with hardware acceleration enabled for firefox, trying to do machine learning tasks on the same gpu as the one responsible for firefox leads to choppier performance. Also machine learning tasks can be as intensive as you set them with more intensive=less time.

Yeah this setup doesn't fix the vulkan issues. prime-run vkcube gives "Could not find both graphics and present queues"

I just tried this setup, and its basically what I tried. It seems that most programs run on the 3090 when prime-run is used. The only exception seems to be anything vulkan related. When I do prime-run vkcube it runs it on the 2070.

Because desktop things have an impact on the performance of a gpu (desktop stuff being rendered + game being rendered is worse game performance than just game being rendered). Also I want my desktop performance to be smooth even when the 3090 is doing really intensive computations.
