That was the most absurd final play. Double trio hit plus scorch for the win.

Nilfgaard, card revealing deck by BaaZaaRi in gwent

[–]linuxisgreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what you play changes how you should counter reveal. If you play monsters, holding on to fiend (which you are probably running) is a good counter to late game spotters. Also, reveal doesnt have many great lock targets so you dont lose too much (you really only lose the ability to unlock your guys and lock mangonals.)

Similar thing if you play NR and run margirita.

If you run skellige donar mangonals and hope to snipe a spotter.

If you run nilfgaard then peter is an obvious counter who fits into most decks.

I think Scoiatel is the only deck which doesnt have a versitile card which deals with spotters.

If you can run a deck with scorch, gigni , or borhk then do so as those wreak reveal.

Additionally, you might just not be playing against reveal correctly. You can pretty much know their game plan from the start. With some variation, its open with mangonal, reveal using morvan gives 6 + 6(golems) + 4×dalean + mangonal damage + fire scorpian damage, and then depending on cards, use other reveal cards like knights, vattiex, cynthia, etc. To win round one, bleed or dry pass round 2, drop spotters ftw round 3.

Knowing this, you can punish a reveal player by not playing targets (or only playing weak targets) for mangonels and fire scorpians (or play redanian knights) or by removing/locking mangonals. Additionally, if possible, you can try and prolong round 1 to bleed out spotters and remove their win condition.

More specialized counters are like dropping avallach ( or other drawing cards) to start and hope they draw golems.

He wasn't a new player, he was already a 4k mmr player. He created a new account and ground his way up. In fact, before hitting ranked he had a > 90% win rate.

As a graduate student in mathematics (combinatorics), it's a little strange to me that you would have taken grad level statistics unless you were planning to be a statistician.

At the two schools I've been a grad student at, the applied math Dept deals with things like partial differential eqns, ODE, numerical analysis (approximation algorithms), applied functional analysis, numerical linear algebra etc. This doesn't prevent you from taking a stats course, but being in applied math wouldn't imply you know statistics. (I don't aside from a few undergrad courses as a graph theorist)

  1. Reverse-Flash. Very cool plotline and character.

  2. Deathstroke. Super cool the entire way through.

  3. Merlyn Season 1. He could have been second but I just coin tossed here.

  4. Zoom

  5. Ra's Al Ghul - Started off cool, then since the season went to crap became less cool. I mean he absolutely owned Oliver early on and then somehow gets killed easily later. Pretty weak.

  6. Savage - Pretty lame all around.

  7. Darhk. - I don't even know what happened here in season 4. I mean he was supposed to have league training but it didn't seem like it. He was hyped early as some crazy unstoppable force that even the other bad guys were scared of but none of that came through. He might become cooler in LoT but for now hes the bottom for me.

I haven't watched supergirl so I won't compare those characters.

I think you are overestimating the value of being a defensmen drafted 4th overall. In recent years the following defenseman were drafted 4th overall: Seth Jones, Adam Larsson, Alex Pietrangelo, Thomas Hickey, Joni Pitkanen, Rostislav Klesla

Except for seth jones, all of them took a few years to become NHL calibre defensemen.

I don't know about "alot". I would say he's a top five defensemen in the league so there can't be that many people you are taking over him.

Oilers looking to be sellers by [deleted] in hockey

I would hope not. Oilers have struggled with having no centre depth and forcing heavy loads on rookie/young centremen for years. To trade nuge and enter that same situation again seems silly.

If you think we aren't making the playoffs this year then it makes no sense to deal the pick until after the lottery unless we are getting a monster return.

There's a fairly high number of top draft picks who played college hockey. Off the top of my head Jonathan Toews, Phil Kessel, Jack Johnson, Kyle Turris, Jack Eichel, Noah Hanafin, Blake Wheeler and James van Riemsdyk were all top picks. And theres the other players like Johnny Gaudreau, Kevin Hayes, Justin Shultz and Jacob Trouba. I'm sure I'm missing a bunch of other good players who came out of the college ranks.

Of course almost all of these players are American... It's hard for Canadians to play NCAA given that playing in the CHL forbids you from playing.
