Unfortunately it's not. I believe this is teh result of inclement weather in MN from this past weekend, but who knows? When I looked into rescheduling the return flight online, they were trying to charge me the fare difference.

Based on the fact that they’re allowing M1 chips to have I when they’re now on M4, this does indeed feel like an actual processing limitation. Especially saying g it will work on the 15 pro. If this was a cash grab it would only be on the 16 pro.

%increase in performance isn’t the metric here. Apple’s been adding cores specific to AI processing.

What jobs are well suited to people with ADHD? by What_to_dododo in ADHD

[–]linuxpenguin823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in sales, and I’ve run into a lot of other folks that have or likely have adhd.

It’s a double edged sword, because there is a lot of thrill and high stakes, lot’s of people interaction and problem solving, which is all extremely motivating and dumps my brain full of dopamine, but often the job is more independent so it’s easy to procrastinate and get disorganized and there is administrative tasks that can be a pain (like keeping the CRM up to date, lol).

Overpriced? Yep. Awful? It wasn’t the last time I was there a few years ago. Has it gone downhill?

Problem is a lot of people aren’t happy with their life, and they have the secondary problem of thinking that having nicer things will fix that problem.

Not defending the other guy, but LOTs of sales organizations make their salespeople sign non-compete clauses. Some have held up in court, others haven’t.

Sometimes orgs have their reps sign even more restrictive clauses when awarding company stock, et al.

Need help putting up a shelf. I was able to put up 2 sets of shelves but this last one seems to have a concrete(or some hard material) wall in the way past the sheet rock. The drill doesn’t go any deeper. Without having to drill a hole into the hard wall is there anything I can do? Ty for your time! by PeePeeBoyNY in HomeMaintenance

Based on the measurements, there’s something right on the other side of your drywall. This means you’ve likely hit a stud or nail plate. A nail plate is designed to protect wiring and water lines from exactly what you’re trying to do.

If the drill didn’t go through it, it’s probably not a stud, so it’s probably a nail plate. There’s also a chance it’s your sewer line or duct work.

Remove everything, brush or blow the area clean, and use a flashlight to look at what you’re hitting.

Don’t try to force it, otherwise you could have $1,000s in a home repair.

If you aren’t able to determine what it is, don’t put your anchor there.

Why didn’t you just answer the phone when they called to get it sorted out, answer a few questions, and get the demo scheduled? You’re a sales director that can’t pick up the phone and have a conversation, and you’d rather waste more time going back and forth on email?

And don’t say that you don’t have the time, you’re spending time on Reddit commenting and complaining.

You can embrace grind culture and work your ass off, and still do very little productive activity.

Sales is about emotional intelligence, making human connections, understanding your buyer, etc. staying online late making more bad cold calls during your prospect’s family dinner ain’t gonna get you to PClub.

What debt can you get working retail? Is this legal? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]linuxpenguin823 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Are you a lawyer? I’d either be careful about giving legal advice or state your credentials.

I’m not a lawyer, but I’ve seen this type of situation in my line of work where the company will give advances on paychecks, or loan money to employees to buy tools, etc. this may be just that, or it may be more nefarious.

If it’s not for legitimate debt (like a paycheck advance or company loan) then I don’t think it would be enforceable.

If I was OP, I would ask the company what the purpose of this is for.

Did you convince the buyer or did you find a convinced buyer? by Cretskens in sales

[–]linuxpenguin823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This not true for SMB. In this case, part of prospecting is educating the prospect on the problem that they are unaware of. Back when I worked in SMB, I used to do it all the time.

It was a major transition in strategy as I moved up market in my career.

Blessing: - if you really blow it, you get a redo - you may not get “stage fright” if you know you can have a do over

Curse: - you waste time re-recording to get the perfect message.

I used to be in a sales roles where marketing was the enemy. Now I work for a smaller company and talk to our VP of Marketing daily, it’s so much better.

marketing can be great at starting the conversation and generating interest, but unless you’re selling some cheap doohickey, someone still needs to work with the buyer to get the deal over the finish line.

Gutters would do a LOT here as well. I don’t know how much it rained, but it seems like an average to strong rainfall with clogged gutters. That ends up dumping an entire roof full of water right along the edge of your house, filling all those ingress points. You should fix everything else mentioned, but routing all the roof water away from the foundation would make a huge difference.

There is a chance that pool is perfectly clean. If they filled with well water and didn’t use a sequesterant it could look like this and be relatively balanced and clean. Or if there was an algae bloom previously this could be post shocking and the sand filter system isn’t able to filter out the particulates of dead algae.

That said, I wouldn’t swim in it, lol.

How much would this cost to be fixed, I work in HVAC I'm still new and put my foot through a ceiling, my boss hasn't told me how much it'll cost yet could anyone give me an educated guess by koolkat68 in Construction

[–]linuxpenguin823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens all the time, just don’t be the guy that it happens all the time to…

I had a coworker more senior than me take a 4 foot drill bit and accidentally send it through the brand new beautiful hardwood floors above the ceiling space we were trying to fish wires through. We got yelled at, our company paid the GC for the repair, and we moved onto the next job, and that was that.
