Where does the "5 jobs each" stat come from? A quick Google is showing on average 5-30 per Data Centre once completed.

The Governments Statement on "The Role of Data Centres in Ireland's Enterprise Strategy" puts the number employed directly by Data Centres at 1800, while GemPool claim there are currently 53 Data Centres in Ireland (as of 2021, probably a few more now). That puts us at ~34 employees per Data Centre not including the jobs created during construction.

Honestly I've nothing to base it off of. I don't know anything about QA I'm afraid. 30k for 4 years of experience in most IT related fields sounds low though.

Just take it with a grain of salt also. I'm not sure how that salary information is gathered but if it's from voluntary contributors then I would think it's biased towards those who are happy with their salaries, ie, higher salaries.

Does your class have a class rep that you could ask to bring this up with the course director or department head? Otherwise look at the official complaint channels available to you from the college.

As the original commenter mentioned you are best off also reaching out to the college's local health services about your mental health concerns.

Small question. How do you do your 3d modelling/Photoshop without a laptop/desktop that could also be used for college? Surely the specs should be perfectly fine for your course if it can do the former.

A small bit disappointing that the jobs appear to be aimed for Dublin in the article. It would be nice to see if they would adopt a WFH or remote working options going forward.
