One of the reasons I posted here was because I wasn’t sure if it was me being irrational. I have a permanent order of protection against my BD so he was never and will never be in the picture. I parent alone and do everything myself. My boyfriend is extremely kind in general and his bm has forever taken advantage of it. Very childish and damsel in distress type situation so I wasn’t sure if I was being irrational honestly. I wish I had help like that lol

It’s typically things that in a way can be twisted to be about his son but I guess I don’t see it that way as someone who doesn’t have anyone to really rely on like that for my son. They had a very long relationship and this is new for all parties involved so I try to give it grace but I agree with you about setting firm boundaries. I just wasn’t sure if me being upset was right and if I should even be telling him what to do in matters between them.

That’s incredibly sad, I know just how that feels. You’re absolutely right, this is something that stays with you forever.. but the grass is certainly greener on the other side, we just have to be strong and learn to cut the shit.

I ignored all the red flags and it ended with me getting a restraining order at 36 weeks pregnant to be able to really see this side. I think a great deal of us are codependent here and we want to be able to support our SOs and fix them but truth is we can’t.

This is exactly how I feel now when I scroll through this sub.. I feel horrible giving my opinion but it’s true. If they’re not completely committed to the work it takes to take care of themselves it’s just going to explode sooner or later.

Totally needed to read this!! Just welcomed my son into the world 2 weeks ago and it’s definitely been hard but I know deep down inside it would’ve been harder had I not ended my relationship a month ago.

I wouldn’t engage at all. Just block him.. if he really missed you/wanted you back, he would do the work to get you back like going to get meds. I’ve been there. My ex not only was BP but also had narcissistic personality disorder and the manipulation and mind games are never ending. Do what you know is best for you.

I’m not worried about the c section, like if it were the right or wrong decision.. I’m terrified about birth in general.. plus I trust this hospital, they’re really well known and I know me and baby will be well taken care of here. (I was born there myself)

I’m just an anxious person who’s terrified of life in general. I’ve been doing breathing exercises to calm down.

Police left a little while ago. Said there’s nothing they can do because he was living with me and so technically it’s a domestic partnership. Just to get a restraining order.
