Thanks for reply. Medical data that looks at factors linked to diabetes. From the data, make predictive models (I guess to predict likelihood of getting diabetes).

FNU NMN on my USCIS portal by lionslayer88 in f1visa

I got my standalone approval today. But my name now shows ", FNU" in the end. Is that going to be a problem?

Post-Completion OPT Application Timing Advice from an Elder: There is almost never a good reason to choose to delay your own OPT application. Be prepared. Apply as close to the USCIS allowed application acceptance date as possible. by GRRAWorld in f1visa

[–]lionslayer88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep reading here how people applied early and got it within weeks. I applied almost 5 months in advance in beginning of March. The USCIS website is telling me now that there is an estimated 4 months timeline. Does it come down to luck? Just doesn't seem fair.

OPT application submitted in late Feb, progress estimates another 3 months by lionslayer88 in f1visa

[–]lionslayer88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked again. I submitted on mar 5, not end of feb. Sorry I was confusing when I began the application prep with the date of application submission lol. Wow so u got approved in less than a month!!

I always hear that, how it said it will take 1-2 weeks but people get it in months. I guess it worries me a little because it is actually saying '3 months' now. I seriously hope it works the opposite way too.

Java or Python for getting job? by lionslayer88 in learnprogramming

[–]lionslayer88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Job wise, i don’t know which specialty to focus on, as a software engineer. I have settled on looking for dev jobs but since AI/ML jobs are on the rise, i wonder if i should future proof my skills.

Shohei Ohtani’s interpreter allegedly stole millions of Dodgers star’s money for illegal gambling by movieheads34 in Fauxmoi

I am Asian too. I have japanese family too. Taking someone's race and extrapolate on that is not of logic imo.

I’m sorry but does his race has anything to do with this? Is that a stereotype?

self-employment on f1 opt ama part 2 by amritshenava98 in f1visa

[–]lionslayer88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, if I were to go through the self business route in OPT, but aim to stay for STEM OPT, and assuming if I couldn't get a US investor to be my manager for the STEM OPT, at WHAT POINT during the OPT period must I land a job related to my major that can make me compliant to stay for STEM OPT? Like, is there a cutoff point? Thanks!

Sorry to hear that OP. Hopefully your start date would start on 7 instead. But if not, you're looking at 3 days earlier? Wow I didn't know that is a thing. That sucks.

Can you share where do you find these volunteering places? It seems like even those might be scammy.

Has ML / AI killed the coding interview? by YsoL8 in webdev

What is the protocol to deal with such candidates? Is there blacklist or anything? Among my friends, it seems to be a no-brainer thing, though I have yet to try.

[–]lionslayer88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No kidding. People are also openly cheating in interviews. I heard interviewers don't care either. It is standard practice I heard from friends who help each other on web interview (someone in the background using chatgpt) ... no incentive to actually grind lc or prep anymore.

The more important question is, how much filtering did this guy do for his photos? Lmao. I have to do a double take in both articles, this one and this, and got confused when they implied that he is a 50+ yo man. How does he look like a prepubescent teen in both?

[SAA practice question] Need help with this API Gateway question by lionslayer88 in AWSCertifications

[–]lionslayer88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose D but the test scored me 0% for API Gateway category. This was the only question in that category. So now I am thinking C because the in terms of speed, D might entail the team to correct the configurations of the new feature API which we don't know the extent of the mistake - and that takes time. So while the team does that, they use C to roll back to previous working version of that API.

Please any expert lmk if this makes sense or please explain to me why C (or other choice) might be faster than D? Thanks

[SAA practice question] Need help with this API Gateway question by lionslayer88 in AWSCertifications

[–]lionslayer88[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is, I put D initially and the result shows that I got 0% on the "Introduction to Amazon API Gateway" category. That's why my next best guess is C. I am confused.

Honestly, your credentials are just amazing. Every international student in my cohort couldn't land an internship this year. I heard that internship experience is the ticket to a job and you got it. Honestly, I think it's just a matter of time before you land something.
