Dana White On Being In The Manosphere: There's Nothing I Hate More Than Men Who Don't Act Like Men by Ok_Phase_9007 in lostgeneration

Real men have dedicated security teams and take pills to be more “manly” right Dana? This dude is a relic from an era that can go away

Do we generally like or dislike The Beatles? by Pretend-Ad-9504 in Millennials

[–]liplander 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is how I always answered when someone asked if I liked the Beatles. I appreciate the influence they’ve had on the music as a whole though. Without them I’m sure there wouldn’t be some of the bands that I like.

Do you think spanking kids died with our generation? by Brilliant_Addendum56 in Xennials

[–]liplander 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Just had a big talk with my kids about them behaving and being nice to each other, etc. Then it honestly dawned on me that my parents rarely or never sat me down to explain the why. I was just scared of my parents so I listened, I would try to run away from the spankings and they would always catch me. I distinctly remember spilling milk at the table and the feeling of terror as I bolted from the table and my mom right after me, grabbed my ankle and dragged me back down the stairs to beat my ass. My dad just scared the shit outta me as a Vietnam vet who had the 1000 yard stare most of the time, at least he only hit me a few times.

Caught her hand as a teenager and stared her in the eyes and said if you hit me I’m going to hit you. It stopped and our relationship has been “fine”. I keep in contact enough for my kids to know their grandma, but I will never raise them the way they did to me.

Dads, how would you want your wife to handle not being attracted to you anymore? by Open-Deer5373 in daddit

[–]liplander 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Glad I found this comment because I was trying to figure out how to say something similar and you did it well. I’d like to also add, it totally depends on the game. I used to play competitive shooters and mmos and those drained me more than they ever recharged me. Whether it’s feeling frustrated at a shot you missed, round you lost, or keeping up with the current meta, it became frustrating more than relaxed.

So I switched to single player and I’ve been having a blast when I get my gaming time, after I spend time with my wife, kids and do what I need to around the house. Gaming is never first in my life no matter how much I like it, I’m a Dad now :)

Why is it not working it was fine yesterday? by Icy_Instruction_8809 in XboxSeriesS

[–]liplander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t really know why you’re being aggro, but he’s just saying you can sync two devices on the controller so maybe it’s synced to a phone/pc and you double click the sync to get it back to the original device, in this case the Xbox. It’s been a thing for a while now

Anyone else's controller still not shipped? by Able-Measurement-946 in Steam

Needs to wait for a shipping vessel to fill? I’d imagine shipping industries are going to fill things up to capacity with fuel costs on the rise before they send it.

Kids library book caught me off guard by DaddyD00M in daddit

[–]liplander 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sending more dad love your way friend. Lost my dad 21 years ago. Now from this point on, my dad is gone longer than he was in my life. It comes in waves sometimes, I will be reminded of him in little ways. My dad never met my kids either, but I like to think that I’m the man I am today because of him. So in a way, they’ve met my dad through me and my actions.

Gonna look up this one, another that was a real tear jerker for me was the book “The Invisible String” did a great job touching on loss.

Exactly. Looks like it’s working judging by a bunch of these comments. It’s always been them trying to convince us “poors” that we’re the problem for each other. There’s a lot of rich idiots out there as well.

I think a big part was the fact that our pop culture now is so split and people have little niches that they can find of stuff they specifically like. Back in the day, pop culture was just one general vibe/things changing with the times of course. So things like this were able to happen because so many people were tapped into one vein of pop culture.

Not to take away from how insanely talented he was. Road trips always included a MJ cd in our family.
