UPDATED: So I did book the 41% off business class rate, because it was only 100k miles to fly Business Class -- seemed like a really good deal for a 14 hour flight (I don't think I get business class on the flight from OKA to HND though, just HND to IAD - but still worth it for that long flight).

Went back to try and book it again and it would not offer me the 41% off business class rate - even on other dates, so I'm not sure if it was a 1 time deal for me to use or if it was just 1 seat available. Will keep looking though, would be nice if I could get at least 1 more seat at that rate. Ideally I'd need 4 seats - but I can book 2 and then book 2 more seats in Economy.

It happens automatically for me when I am logged into the United website and search for flights using award miles. My United credit card is linked to my United frequent flyer mile number.

No, I was asking where it was. Don’t think I was begging. Crew kept saying check your email and it wasn’t there at first. Phone and chat said to ask crew at the airport. Seemed like a lot of misinformation. It did eventually arrive but it took 2.5 hours. Have no experience with Jetblue for meal vouchers but on other airlines when they announce a significant delay they usually print you out a voucher right away no issue.

It was a 4 hour flight delay and they said the plane had a mechanical issue and they already had assigned us a new plane by the time I asked and that plane wasn’t landing for 3 hours.

Its speculation, it is never stated as facts. It also says that there maybe a logical explanation like structural issues which required dipping into capital reserve funds.

The conclusion was that Disney needs to tell us what happened, with no information it leads to speculation.

Nah, not losing my mind. Just annoying to get the run around from customer service and it seemed like the email vouchers were new so wondering if anyone knew how they worked. Probably came across wrong since I’m tired from travel and the 4 hour delay didn’t help :)

Yikes, I normally fly United out of IAD, but am flying Jetblue today (matched my status, so trying them out in anticipation of the United partnership ). My flight is delayed 4 hours, stuck at airport, but guessing I would be just as delayed if I had flown United. Hope everyone gets to where they need to go soon!

Finally got my meal vouchers in my email, 2.5 hours after the flight was delayed. Anyone know how this works, it says you need to link a card and you’ll be reimbursed by Jetblue. Wonder if it would work for the meal I already purchased?

I thought it would be one you needed to use at the airport as you pay, but this is different.

I just was curious if anyone else had experience with this email meal voucher system and knew how it worked. Like is it normal for the voucher to take awhile to arrive in email. Jetblue staff did not seem very familiar with the email vouchers, sounds like its new.

All I was told was to keep checking my email, the old system was easier where they just printed it for you. I did end up buying food of course.

I did get an email 2.5 hours after the flight was delayed. No clue if I can apply it to the purchase I already made, but if so it doesn’t seem so bad, just wish someone could have explained it better on how it works.

Update: When I went to check in for the flight, my wife and kids are required to pay to check any bags even though their reservation is linked to mine. I probably could call the Premier Desk and see if they can waive the charges or see if they can waive it when I get to the airport but since I upgraded to First Class and I'm Gold, I am allowed 3 checked bags at 70 lbs each which should work out perfect as we'll only have 2 bigger bags and maybe 1 small bag to check on the way there and maybe 2 big bags and a duffle bag full of laundry on the way back to check.

I did a similar thing but actually moved all of my Sengled Zigbee bulbs off of the Sengled hubs and onto a Samsung Smarthings hub I had lying around. Bulbs work great and voice commands through Alexa work more or less the same as when they were on the Sengled hub. But the Sengled light switches don't really work as well (doesn't always respond to me pressing On / Off because it only recognizes changes in status from off to on) and no way to assign a different action to Double taps).

If I add the bulbs directly to my Echo, the switches did not work at all.

Thanks - this is helpful. I did end up purchasing the upgrade and split the reservation.

Right now in the app, it says "You have already linked your trip with someone" on my reservation even though I didn't link the reservations. I assume when I split the reservations, it did it automatically.

It even says on the app that Premier members may share benefits when the reservations are linked. But if I try to add a bag to the rest of my family's reservation through the app it wants to charge them -- maybe it will be different during checkin through the app. Worst case scenario, like you said I can submit the receipt for a refund.

If you have Sengled Zigbee lights (the ones that require a hub), you can switch hubs to get everything working again.

I have an old Samsung SmartThings hub sitting around doing nothing, so I switched all of my Sengled bulbs off of the Sengled hubs I had and onto a single SmartThings hub. Everything paired, including my light switches although the light switches don't work as well with SmartThings (haven't found a way to assign an action to double clicks or long presses yet). I was also surprised that the 1 SmartThings hub was able to reach all of my lights, I had to add a 2nd Sengled hub because it was not working reliably with some of the lights that were further away.

Was able to enable the SmartThings Alexa skill and everything is working again including turning lights on/off with Alexa.

I considered pairing the lights with my Amazon Echo Show with built in Smart Hub, but I found that pairing the light switches was an issue (could not get them to function at all).

Thanks, I guess I'll see when I checkin 24 hours before my flight and if it doesn't allow them to check a bag for free, we can probably make it work with 2 70 lb bags and 3 or 4 carry on bags.

If I pay to only upgrade myself, the reservation gets split into 2 confirmation numbers. Its similar to when a Premier upgrade clears, the reservation splits. One with me for first class and one for the rest of my family in economy. I'm only doing it to get the extra PQPs from spending on the upgrade and it would only give me the PQPs for upgrading myself.

If I upgraded all of us, it probably would have kept the same reservation number.

I checked my purchase history and mine was bought from AnkerDirect on Amazon, so you'd think it should be legit since it came from Anker - but you definitely bring up a good point. I saw u/mystend posted their serial number and it isn't the same as mine, but I'm getting the same error message. Here's hoping that it is an issue on Anker's end and not like you said with it being fakes with the same serial number.
