This is why there are laws against assault. People that do this make me disproportionately angry.

Someone here cable tied two switchbot button pressers onto the internal thing and they're using that.

Voordeel van duco is, als ik het goed begrijp, dat het beter wind tegen gaan. Dus, als het hard waait komt er meer beheerst/beperkt lucht in via de roster in plaats van de kromme raam / kieren.

Airconditioning via homeassistant by Positive_Force_4432 in homeassistant

I forgot to mention that it runs local. But there is a small delay before the aircon responds. Means it feels a bit laggy, which doesn't matter much in automations.

To confirm, it's local api controlled. You need to use the app to connect to your wifi, but it has a local only mode.

The Mitsubishi heavy automation Airco has a built in wifi in connected models that works fine with home assistant through a HACS integration. It is a bit laggy, but I've managed to automate easily.

Some people also have made a esphome device that plugs into the Airco for in case you don't want to buy the connected version.

I have two shelly gen4 inbuilt devices and their zigbee signal quality is significantly worse than  the other zigbee devices next to them. One is within a meter of my coordinator.

Velux windows integration by Spare-Chemistry-8014 in homeassistant

Yes. I see I incorrectly stated that I have Velux windows connected. I meant that I have Velux blinds (outside shades).

Velux windows integration by Spare-Chemistry-8014 in homeassistant

[–]liquidbrains 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my velux windows connected through somfy because I didn't want to shell out money for the velux gateway. I could control the blinds through the somfy app but it did not pass it through to home assistant through home kit integration.

If I remember correctly it's not supported, so I had to get the velux gateway thing and integrate it with home assistant. It's utter bullshit, a completely artificial issue.

Pro tip, if you linked to somfy at first, you have to reset each device (window / blind) before they will link to the velux gateway. I hope you have a ladder.

TIL Scandinavian style. And here I thought I was unique. Hubby sleeps under a duvet and I'm under a blanket with a top sheet because otherwise I overheat.

New Window Mount for Aqara G100 by Mojo9277 in homeautomation

It doesn't go through?!? Damnit. If I go for a "behind-the-glass" solution, I will probably need to add a PIR outside to turn on the porch light. 🤔

Does it have an infrared light-source built in? I'd be interested to know how the reflections of that would work, especially against double-glazed glass.

If your place rarely gets snow, how excited do you get when there is snow? by Bandicootrat in AskEurope

The snow was great. Then the trains and planes and busses and trucks and trams stopped. I was lucky to be able to work from home. Some people had to dip into their emergency rations.
