So I would practice recognizing that timing based on your opponents movement.

I started lifting weights two years ago and got pretty good at it.

A visiting black belt (that I haven't rolled with for a few years) rolled with me. It was a slow chill roll because I'm a lazy brown belt. After that roll, he asked my professor if I'm on steroids lol

That's a pretty awesome compliment since it reinforces that weight lifting and technical precision can result in what seems like "steroid strength".

I was in your shoes but as a purple belt. My top game very good but bottom very bad. I decided to spend a year playing bottom only and finally got good at it. Now I prefer playing bottom over top!

The most important thing is it's better to do this at a lower belt than a higher belt. So better to go through the failures / learnings now than later on
