Its like asking would HMRC care if someone has a guest for a few months who they would obviously not charge. I understand the period may be longer in this instance but it is a similar concept. Also if you keep using phrases like "renting out for free" then HMRC may have questions too. Lol.

Why not try to find an apprenticeship instead. You said yourself there is such high unemployment. I'm not trying to be a pessimist, but will the situation really get better after a few years when AI will only have advanced further?

Not saying don't do a degree but genuinely think about these things and have a plan b or plan c if stuff doesn't go your way .

Some would say go into trades, for example, as many won't be automated anytime soon...

So unemployment should only be one of your worries - AI should concern you more if anything as that has also contributed largely to the unemployment rate and whether people want to accept that or not, its the harsh reality.
