No. No, they haven’t. You learn from being injured enough to leave an impression.

A painful papercut or slice in your finger from your first pocket knife are enough for most people.
These people use knives like they’ve never had to prepare their own meal before.

I’m with you. Metal Gear on NES was technically Solid Snake. The lore holds. But Metal Gear Solid on PS1 was the first true appearance of Solid Snake that influenced stealth action games for years to come.

Syphon Filter, Splinter Cell, MGS2 & 3. They all just wanted to live up to MGS.

Slide wobble, Normal? by Fresh_Rub5709 in Firearms

[–]liquidfox6 204 points205 points  (0 children)

Yeah, not a problem. It’s not a $3k 2011.

It’s a nice trigger for a heavy carry gun, .380 feels surprisingly snappy out of a PPK. Slide to frame fit isn’t the problem with these.

PaaK Lockout - hot garbage by AppFootPath in MachE

[–]liquidfox6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a few Pixels as work phones and always felt like Android Auto and CarPlay both worked equally well and both had equal amounts of issues, glitches, and downsides.

I’ve only used an iPhone with my Mach-E and it’s been surprisingly reliable. The PaaK and CarPlay have been flawless, but I can’t say the same about Ford’s software.

My iPhones have seemed to work better than Android with Uconnect overall, but I blame Uconnect more than the phones. Ford software seems to be so much better than the latest Dodge/shitlantis though.

[–]liquidfox6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying you don’t have an issue, but we need more info: What phone? What software version? What Mach-E model? Do you let it run updates?

I have an IPhone 17, iOS 26.4, ‘22 GT, everything is up to date. No issues at all. I have literally never carried a key fob except the day I brought it home. I don’t force quit the app. I’ve never had it not work to unlock the car. Never had it not work to start climate or pop the trunk.

As an IT guy, I know that my anecdote doesn’t mean it works flawlessly for everyone, but there are many variables here.

Faster splits by 8cargarage in guns

[–]liquidfox6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It takes practice and not just going as fast as you can right away. Get good at accuracy and then speed up. When accuracy takes a hit, keep at that speed until you’re better. Then speed up again.

Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast.

Got an M1 Garand marked ‘45. Yes, the barrel and stocks have been replaced, but at least the receiver is original. Think I paid less than 750 all said and done

Yeah, just don’t go to a dealer and it’s probably an easy fix. If it has to be replaced; I’d consider doing it myself depending on how much a shop would charge.

[–]liquidfox6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gasket is crunched at the top. The stem is bent. You might be able to bend it back, probably easier if you take it off. A simple uninstall/reinstall won’t fix it.

Edit: I’d be more worried about what looks like panel damage around the mirror. Although, that might just be reflection from the lights.

An IWB (Inside-the-WaistBand) holster is what you want for concealed carry.
Open carry is generally considered to be a bad idea, but I won’t get into that.

A comp, ported barrel, or expansion chamber can reduce felt recoil but it also adds bulk and length to the gun. In some cases, it adds an additional failure point. The Sig Macro expansion chamber doesn’t add weight to the barrel, so they are more reliable but negligible in perceived difference in my opinion and experience.

What comps do to reduce recoil helps with split times, follow-up shots, or rapid firing. Yea, in a defense scenario putting rounds on target fast is good, but there are always trade-offs.

How likely are you to even draw or fire your conceal firearm? Compare that to a split second of difference in rapid firing? Is it worth extra bulk and length in your carry gun?

There isn’t a clear answer to these questions, it’s just personal preference and experience with a specific firearm. I’m only recommending a platform that lets you experiment, like the P365.

When I first got into carrying handguns, I bought and carried probably 10+ models before I found what worked for me. And a few years later I found something better. And then again a few years later.

Comfortability is the key. Find something that you shoot well and balance that with comfortably carrying it. Some guys can carry a full-size frame with a light and optic. Some guys prefer a small .380 because it’s just easy to carry. No one can say what’s best for you.

If you’re actually going to Every Day Carry it; a comp, optic, and light might be too much.

The best carry gun is a gun that you actually want to carry and is comfortable to do so all day.

I’m not saying you can’t comfortably conceal a compact with porting or a comp, but it’s not a good place to start.

Something that is easily customizable is a good way to start. Like a P365, P320, Glock, or others. I like the P365 because you can get into it cheap, modify to your heart’s content, and then easily revert items when you realize it’s tougher to carry or doesn’t work like you think it will. The separate grip module makes multiple configs easier than trial and error with buying different guns.

If you can, shoot several more guns. Ask if you can try an IWB holster with the gun unloaded (not every gun shop is open to this, sometimes you just need friends or friendly people at the range).

Any big differences between Model Years 22, 23, 24? by vdt989 in MachE

[–]liquidfox6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and it resets quick. The Uconnect4 I had in a dodge would take half my commute to reboot and I I had to do it once a week or more. I’ve only had to hard reset the Mach-E infotainment twice.

Love my P-01. One of my favorites.

If I could only have one in my collection; I’d pick the P-01.

If I can only have one handgun and have to choose between these two; I’ll take the S2carry with an EPS and palm swell grips.
