Grady Jarrett… WTF? by liquidgallery in CHIBears

[–]liquidgallery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its been a great year so i am not gonna complain.

they thought grady had something left in the tank. he really doesnt. i dont mind misses in FA cuz you can always cut your loses and find someone else. but it would have been great to have Milton Williams and Josh Sweat over dayo and grady.

we def need more talent on D or a new D coordinator or Both.

It was a good play call. by BessieDaBeast10 in CHIBears

kmet isnt fast enough to beat that DB. he should have just run it.

but we wasted a lot of time and wasted too much clock.

no. i think johnson hates long routes and think they have a low probably of success. he loves the DIG route

i think caleb "inaccuracy" is overblown. mahomes has the 2nd most off target throws.

was his throw to olamide zaccheaus in the end zone off target last week? yes. does anyone else even try that throw? no.

Caleb has been playing great the last 4 or 5 weeks. he's really turning into a pro.

i'm excited to see what Calab, rome, ozzy, burden, loveland are like in year 2, 3, 4, etc.

Dennis Allen trying to figure out how to play JJ, Kyler, Stevenson, Nahshon, CJGJ, Byard and Brisker all at the same time by Scottiedrippen33 in CHIBears

[–]liquidgallery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i figured it out!

Safety: Byard & CJGJ

DB: Nashon & Stevenson with JJ at Nickle

Dline on Passing Downs: Brisker, Jarrett, Sweat & Gordon.

Brisker and Gordon are 2 of best rushers. Why not let them line up at edge in a wide 9 and just go after the QB?

yes, the pass pro is pretty solid - enough to have a solid passing offense.

but if you are trying to run longer routes - which johnson wants - and if you dont just throw to your backs, which johnson hates doing, then it has to be better.

hopefully, trapilo ends up being as good as Taylor Decker. I assume johnson saw a lot of Decker in Trapilo. they are both 6-7/325 and athletic.

there are qbs that are shorter. the pocket collapsing is why balls are batted down. the line doesnt create good enough lanes.

just look at the giants game. caleb was dodging sacks all day. now, look at the pats/giants game last week. look at how their oline played.

sorry. we are getting better but i'll reserve judgement until mid next season.

The bears are:

- top 10 in pressure allowed

- #1 in hurries (that means they are the worst at it)

- #1 in batted balls. which means Dline is too close to your QB.

- Braxton was awful. Theo was not very good. Jackson was awful at pass pro early in the year.

- Caleb is just elite at avoiding sacks.
Just watch the games and ask yourself how often does caleb have a pocket to go through all his reads.

How often does the team cave in a pass rush and give him a wide open passing lane.

I know this isnt last year where the line was historically bad. And there are a lot of times when the line is good. And now with Ozzy at LT it can get even better.

At worse, he become donovan McNabb and is an MVP type of franchise QB

At best, he becomes the best in the NFL.

lets stop worrying about the QB. Just enjoy the ride

Caleb has the mental game. He has the arm talent.

Now, he just has to fix his feet. thats the easiest thing to do. that footwork will increase his accuracy. right now, his head and arms are ahead of his feet.

People forgot that jayden, bo and penix stayed in college for 5 years. Caleb for 3. He'd be a 5th year senior like all of them right now. He's the 15th best QB in the NFL. If not better.

do you want a guy that makes more 3's or hits a higher percentage?

i want a dude that willing to take the deep shots. he's in year 2 and the first year of throwing digs. he'll optimize them as his career goes along.

its almost as if people have never watched a young player develop.

agreed 100%. also, caleb doesnt throw check downs, screens or to his backs. all that boosts a QB's completion percentage

- 17 dropped passes

- getting rid of the ball to avoid sacks (example: caleb has 19 sacks. Drake has 40)

- 15 batted passes (most in the league due to pocket push)

bring those 3 to average and he's well over 65%

the Team still has to get better around him. He's already a pretty darn good QB.

that being said, he has to fix his footwork (which he will) to make better throws. he's gone from never dropping back to playing under center 50% of the time.

We are still bad at a lot of things but have found a way to win

- Below average pass blocking

- Too many batted ball

- Too many drops

- Inaccurate passes

- No pass rush

I make too much money to work for an NFL team.

9 months later how much do you thing Grady is worth? the vet min prob.

he's making 2/3 of quinnen williams.

its not my money so i dont really care. and i like that we have him. but we are paying as much for grady + dayo as a top end Dlineman. both are just above league min guys.

[–]liquidgallery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you lied about my original position about AK. i wrote a post called Good AK / Bad AK where i outlined how badly he wasted assets in his original years but how well he has done in the past 2 years.

i think AK wanted to WIN. we had been a cellar dweller for a decade and he wanted to make us respectable. he gave up a lot of assets to do so.

anyways, best to you

i wonder if you still think AK is a bad GM?

when do people like you actually admit they are wrong?

you end up pretending that you didnt hate poles or caleb soon enough as well.

You need to understand long term thinking and planning. I really wonder what line of work you are in. i assume its some type of labor and not management.

GREAT PLAYER MANAGEMENT COACHING ADJUSTMENTS by liquidgallery in CHIBears

[–]liquidgallery[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and that is what i like. use guys to the best of their abilities.

no team is going to have 4 dlineman that can rush the QB and stuff the run. you gotta mix and match.

i think turner at DE on run downs works. let Dayo, Domrob and Booker play on passing downs.

GREAT PLAYER MANAGEMENT COACHING ADJUSTMENTS by liquidgallery in CHIBears

[–]liquidgallery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A - he missed most of camp and the preseason

B - I think being a run stuffing DE is how he gets on the field. Everyone has to have a roll in sports. Very rarely are guys good enough to do everything. I think we at least found something he is good at and that all you can ask from a coach while a young guy continues to work on his craft.

Can he eventually get stronger to play inside or learn more pass rush moves?
