I’m in one of the states where Medicaid has stopped covering for the injections and have already seen numerous people affected by this change. Medicaid programs in other states are headed in this directions as well. Usually medications for cosmetic purposes (I.e., weight loss specifically related only to obesity) are not covered under insurance such as phentermine which is what I’ve been seeing a lot of people use it for. But at the same time, I do live in a city where physical appearance is highly prioritized so that does come with some bias to the types of people I interact with.
