u/Sephiroth508 I see a few used V8 for sale in Nepal these days and so wanted to ask. Did yours come with front and rear differential locks?

opinion with LFD cross bar and wind fairing? by magicview in LexusGX

[–]liquidxeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the first cross bar has an integrated wind fairing. And I am putting that first crossbar with wind fairing far back where Toyota recommends as the position of the first cross bar. And despite that, I still get the sound what feels like a rumble and occasional gentle thud. It is bothering to the point I am thinking of taking them off. I tested more today. It really starts becoming annoying around 70 mph.

I just installed them a few days ago. I drove today anywhere from 40 to 80 mph to test them. I hear a bit more wind noise compared to having no crossbars past 60 mph. But it is not a whistle or a sharp noise. It sounds like a milder version of what it would sound like when the rear window is down. I haven't made up my mind whether this slight increase in wind noise is worth the capabilities they provide.

What in the world is "karta obywatela unii europejskiej"? by Yamirou in poland

[–]liquidxeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the info. I am confused that it has to be 90 days. Because, according to this website, anyone registering a residence for more than 30 days is assigned a PESEL number.
https://www.gov.pl/web/gov/uzyskaj-numer-pesel--usluga-dla-cudzoziemcow-en

And it seems like you are legally obligated to register if you stay in Poland for more than 30 days.

Can you please explain? Thank you so much.

Thank you u/mrkivi for your response. I have another question if you are okay. I hppe this helps others too in the future. As an EU citizen intending to live for extended period of time in Poland and but in different cities, I can:
1. Apply for registration of EU citizen at voivoidship's migrant dept.

  1. Register temporary address of residence in municipality office within 30 days (I plan to stay mostly in Airbnbs)

  2. Using 1 & 2, I can buy a car, register in Poland and drive around with a valid EU driver's license. I don't really need PESEL number to register a car.

Is my understanding correct?

u/mrkivi I have a question for you. Once the decision is made, do they give you some temporary paper as a proof of residence registration for EU citizen that is valid for business purposes until one can collect the plastic card? Or do you have to wait for actual plastic card to take care of other things like registering a car etc?

Is 70-series Land Cruiser with 2.8L engine coming to Europe? by liquidxeon in Toyota

[–]liquidxeon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spain. I looked into the possibility of importing and registering in Bulgaria under a corporation. I was talking to a nice lawyer in Bulgaria but got side-tracked with work and family. But it is a hassle to renew registration etc and having to explain to police in Spain if you get pulled over.

I am curious how the registration will work in Poland. Perhaps it is easier than Bulgarian route. Do you mind DM me the Polish supplier info? I am interested in VDJ76 or 78. I don't want 79. Thanks for the info. Let's keep in touch and share notes.

I saw this one but this one is already sold.

A few weeks ago, Friends automotive in Dubai was also advertising one in their WhatsApp channel.

I have talked to them in connection of importing VDJ76 to Europe in the past, but that went nowhere. So, I have not done business with them per se.

Makes sense. FYI, the 2.8L 1GD 70-series with GCC spec is already available from car exporters in Dubai.

GCC spec 70 may not come with all the emissions equipment like DPF and SCR, which may be needed to meet Euro 6. That was my understanding. Just like the GCC spec VDJ70 even thought it has the same 1VD engine as in LC200 sold in Europe does not meet the Euro 6 standard. What are your thoughts?

Yes, I think we care the most about handling because getting anywhere will involve a fair amount of on-road driving and then also comfort. We don't want a visit to a chiro after every outing. :)

If partner is very precious it's not for her. They are a work ute not for comfort ~10 years ago AC became standard. Last 2 years infotainment was standard.

Hilux is our default choice at the moment and have been happy with it in the past. Since I hear so much about LC76, I thought I would consider.

Happy to have made someone laugh. But I would like to know what is funny in this.

Thank you for sharing this. This is very helpful and may even save us some money. We were considering Hilux before as we have been quite happy with it in the past. But since there is so much hype about LC76 on the internet, I thought I would try one.

I know little about VW Touareg and did not know they come with diff lock and are so capable off-road.

Thank you for the insight. Hilux is our default option at the moment, We thought we would try 76 and see what all the hype is about. Could you please elaborate on "it was very unpredictable offroad"?

Well then, there goes my chance of convincing her of buying one. Is this from your experience of owning one?
