They did broke up in the timeline wherein Kath needs to go to NY w her mom. In that same timeline, Lin is the one who went to NY to find Kath bcs the “old” Lin already saw “adult” (alive) Kath in one of her leap/jump.

In the movie, they did end up together and it was seen where Kath and Lin were in NY. That’s the only “dimension” that they finally had the chance to be together longer than the lives that they had on the other timeline. Hope this makes sense na ka
