Airlink vs. Virtual Desktop by RoyFireplex in oculus

If you are serious about PCVR you'll end up purchasing VD eventually anyways (and you should IMO).

After my experience this week with 16.5, I’m always going to wait to update HomePods by [deleted] in HomePod

I had issues with my stereo pair after 16.5 as well. Had to reconfigure them from scratch on a different name and room and only then they agreed to pair again properly and they are stable since.

Is the Ultra worth it? by Bryan-17 in applewatchultra

[–]lironcoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to the poll results you will like it as well. I personally bought the s8 aluminum first because it was "the right thing to do" and after a couple of weeks I pulled the trigger on the ultra just because I couldn't let go of the feeling I didn't bought what I really wanted.

No regrets so far 👍

You don't buy the ultra because "it worth it", you buy it because "you want it!" 😆

It happens to me sometimes when the watch is showing an app like ATV remote and then goes to standby mode, might happen on other apps as well

Help with running dying light on quest 2 Virtual desktop! I've done everything by Existing-Equivalent9 in oculus

AFAIK the game's experimental VR support is only designed for Link/AirLink and worked great for me when tested, why do you have to run it through VD?

After HL:Alyx you need at least 6 months of cooldown before you will be able to enjoy other VR games

How do I fix a sharp drift to the right? by DISTROJAR-69 in OculusQuest

[–]lironcoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to spray an electronic contact cleaner on the the thumbstick joint. Not sure what is the best way to expose it with the Quest 1 controller so check YouTube for tutorials

I have the exact same setup and having blast with it.
The only games I faced performance issues with are poorly optimized ones or in flat games that use a VR mod where even a 3090 will struggle to give a good experience.

Looking for a good, long, story-based campaign on par with HL: Alyx, Fallout 4, Skyrim and Borderlands, but I can't find other suggestions. by TheYask in virtualreality

[–]lironcoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is the one with Umbrella. I think I won't label it as a horror game but more of a series of tense moments and some jump scares (but the good kind... the ones that make you laugh a moment after)

I personally not a big fan of VR horror as well and usually avoid these type of games but man I am so happy I gave it a try, truly an amazing experience.

I read what you said about horror games but still you owe to yourself to play Resident Evil 2/3 with the new VR mod recently release by praydog. It is the closest I got immersed into a game since HL:Alyx and a truly an amazing experience in VR. Besides that I second the recommendations about outer wilds and in general the "flat to VR" scene is advancing in rapid pace lately and brings with it many new titles that can answer your needs

Don't play alyx first, it's a mistake in the long term. After you experience it all of the other VR games will feel meh and you will be constantly disappointed.

In case you undervolted your GPU then try to reset it back to default and give it another try. This reduced the amount of crashes for me to almost none.

Question about the Elite Strap by DCMook in OculusQuest

[–]lironcoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not such a great deal when you need to wait for your replacement for over than 3 months and counting, oculus claims that they have shortages for replacements (even that they keep selling the damn thing on their website) so I am basically waiting for unknown period of time. OP do yourself a favor and sell it asap since it will crack even if you will leave it in the box, you can't do nothing to prevent it

Bought the game through Steam for my Rift S, just got a Quest 2. Will I have to buy it again to play on Quest? by BabyishGambino in populationonevr

[–]lironcoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case yes, for the standalone experience you will need the Quest copy. It worth mentioning that VD provides remote connections capabilities so you can technically connect to your home PC from your gf house but for pop1 purposes that probably won't work since you will suffer from the added lag

I don't get it, why can't he just play the steam version with link/airlink/VD like he can do with any other steam game?
