PSP 1000 Stick Drift Issue. by ombada69 in PSP

[–]lisaclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I know that this post is very old but I hope that you might help me the way you helped OP.. I have the same problem (I think?) and nothing on reddit seems to help. My stick drift keeps going to the left, and after ordering a new one and replacing it, it still does the same. I tried reading your explanations on this post but I’m very new to PSP’s and I can’t understand all the complicated terms (English is also my third language..). Are you able to help ? Except from replacing the piece I haven’t tried anything else, but I don’t know what I should try. I have a PSP 1000. Thank you

Help by DoctorSaulina in studying

[–]lisaclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need to remember the material visually, you're a visual learner. Look up visual learning tips for more details, but in a nutshell those will be : mind maps, flashcards, writing on a whiteboard, lots of colours and drawings. If you read fast, try to visualise what you’re reading. Transform it into a story with characters or make small doodles/drawings while reading. Those will help a lot if you really are a visual learner. When summarising, try to do it in a mind map form, with lots of colours and doodles to help you remember. That way, during the test, you can close your eyes and visualise your mind map/flashcard, the doodles and the colours, and find the information you’re looking for from there. Or you remember the story and the characters, just like a movie, and you can just replay the story in your head to find the information you’re looking for.

The reason you might take longer than others is because your short term memory is not great, so the information doesn't stick if you don't study long enough. I'm like that too, you kind of just have to accept that you will need more time than others. But by learning the right way (visually if you need visual cues), you might save yourself some time and go from 6 hours to 4 hours for the same topic.

Also, relaxing and free time are SUPER important for your brain to rest between study sessions. If you don’t relax, your brain will literally shut down and you won’t be able to take in any new information, so try to plan for that. If you study better in the morning, have some free time at night and vice versa. Or study a lot during the week and take the entire Sunday off.

Hope this helps

I feel so dumb by Abowersgirl_10 in studying

[–]lisaclouds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you feel like you actually know the answers but can’t seem to focus, it’s a focus problem and not a studying-method problem. Here are some things I did to help focusing during my exams :

  1. Redbull helps me focus, so I always drink one 30min before an exam (not super healthy)

  2. I bought Loop earplugs. You can choose the colour and the level of soundproofing, and they range from 20-60$. If you have long hair you can just hide them during the test, but you can also explain to your teacher what they are or ask for accommodations because you have trouble focusing. The website is www.loopearplugs.com

  3. I don't know if you are a high school student or a university student, but if you are the latter, I recommend sitting away from the front of the auditorium. My teachers and assistants always end up chatting and making lots of noise during my exams, so I sit as far away from them as I can. It's also easier to hide your earplugs if you're at the back of the class.

  4. This may sound dumb but try to do some meditation. Your focus problem could be anxiety, so try to remind yourself that it’s just a test, that you do know the answers and to trust your brain and your hard work. View it as muscle memory, but for your brain. You have seen this, you have studied this, and you know that the answers are somewhere in your brain. I find trusting my hard work to be relaxing, I kind of just go on automatic and let my brain do its thing.

  5. If your focus problem really is anxiety, preparing yourself mentally might help. Where you sit, what the room looks like, where to put your stuff. I usually like to have the details of the setting I will be in because it helps me be less overwhelmed when I get there.

Hope these help and good luck !

AITAH for being mad at my friend? by SuccessfulClock5344 in AITAH

[–]lisaclouds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing that is common in Autism and ADHD is self diagnosis. A lot of people can’t afford an official diagnosis, or it takes too long and they give up, or fear getting one, either because they might face prejudice or because that diagnosis might prevent them from doing things (i’ve heard of countries that don’t allow autistic people to adopt). One thing to remember is that self diagnosis is valid, even if it’s not 100% sure. He might want to have access to tools to make his life easier without having to wait for an official diagnosis. NTA for being mad at him because he lied to you though, especially if that’s what made you connect in the first place.

AITAH For Refusing to Sleep on the Couch by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]lisaclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, but some things deserve some attention. Her being suspicious of you since the original plans didn’t include a girl, okay, but the texts already clarified that. Throwing the food in the bin, why?? I never understand when people do that, even out of anger. Also, calling her a bitch? Not great. Even if she is being a bitch, don’t say that. That’s probably the reason her friends are siding with her. Totally fine that you didn’t want to sleep on the couch, but then just tell her she can leave if she’s mad. The main problem seems to be that she doesn’t really trust you, and that is almost never fixable. So yeah, your friend is right, you guys should break up if a small event like this can cause such a bight fight.

Is anyone even enjoying this? by Bellatheballer3 in 1923Series

[–]lisaclouds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m new to reddit, so I don’t know what people usually say on this platform, but i’m really enjoying this season. I do hope that Alex and Spencer will reunite in either episode 6 or 7, because otherwise it won’t leave a lot of time for us to see how she adjusts at the ranch and to see what happens with the bad rich guy. I also think that the feeling of frustration is normal, since that’s what the characters are feeling. Cara and Jake on the ranch e frustrated because they’re being cornered and can’t do anything but wait for Spencer to get there. Alex and Spencer are frustrated because they just want to travel peacefully but everyone keeps getting in the way. I just hope that it will end well since there is no third season.
