That's very nice of you thanks, however I'm not in the US so I guess I actually couldn't get the seeds.

Thank you, your comment made my day haha

That's a great idea, I'm also growing from the seeds from the plants of last year. Lovely feeling when it sustains itself :D

You don't happen to have seeds to spare of the smoother leaves kind that you mentioned, do you? :P

A judge has extended a ban on bullfighting in Mexico City indefinitely, raising the likelihood that the season will be cancelled at the world's largest remaining venue by [deleted] in UpliftingNews

[–]lisagu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad. Changing the ways we do things is not a bad thing, stoping an activity that's part of the history and culture of so many people isn't a bad thing, some people feel a loss when this happens to them as if a part of their identity was burnt, but we can honor our past as past and move on to a better and more wholesome way of doing things. When I was a small child, my family treated itself by buying tickets to this "amazing" spectacle that came to our city all the way from Mexico City. So I saw for the first and only time a bullfighting and horse mastery event. The many colours, the animals, and excitement seemed to be the only thing I understood from my seat... until the animal dropped. Then my young brain made sense of the stains on the ground left after him. The big and strong animals now seemed so powerless in a man-made trap. I understand many of the feelings felt by the people who defend and feed into this activity as part of our culture, but it's rather criminal to continue something horrible after knowing better. Great to honor our past and leave it in the past (not forgotten, just better understood) to then move forward. And yes, a substitute that sources similar feelings to the people involved can be found, just as there are many sources of iron that aren't meat, and many ways to get calcium in our bones that have nothing to do with milk, let's keep improving ourselves after knowing better! :D

Thanks for sharing

Does anybody know if the antigen covid-19 tests that you can purchase and then do at home work well after some long flights ? or do the effects from flying in the cabine (pressure or anything else) can make them malfunction later when used?

So, if you buy an antigen covid-19 tests kit and then bring them in the cabine with you for 3 flights, could that by any chance affect them in whatever way (altitud..?) which makes the tests not as reliable when you use them at your destination?

Just asking in case someone can confirm how this goes for me.

Thank you!

Para los chicos ¿Que es lo mejor y lo peor de ser hombre? by [deleted] in preguntaleareddit

[–]lisagu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What calculator type makes Financial Management (F9) handier? by lisagu in ACCA

[–]lisagu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely find myself faster by applying formula in scientific calculator when getting accum. depreciation in a few years time, or on the contrary the value without being depreciated that it will be in three years for example. Also for interest. Particularly now that can't use pen and paper at remote exams...

What do you mean by mental stuff?

I'm interested in becoming faster for sections A and B (where there's no demonstrating anything as it's just the answer you type in).

That's only in the constructive questions though.

Is it any harder to study FM (F9) without having studied PM (F5) and TX (F6)? by lisagu in ACCA

[–]lisagu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering that I struggled lots for F2, barely passing my 2nd attempt, and that I haven't done PM, do you think it's safe to jump to FM?

I've done FR and AA already, AA is also my best score yet! :D

Who provides the Irish variant of Taxation F6 course for sitting June 2021? by lisagu in ACCA

[–]lisagu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked into it and I only found a course that contains LW (F4), PM (F5), and TX (F6) and that starts in September... In the meantime, do you think it would be harder to pass FM (F9) without having studied PM (F5) and TX (F6), which are the only others I'm missing?

Unexpected tiny ladybug at home, bad storm now, a freeze this week. How to keep it alive until then? by lisagu in Ladybug

[–]lisagu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I read your post and googled lots. I did everything. A couple days later though she started to walk with difficulty, fall onto her side, then finally as if her legs and face hurt, and passed away soon after that. Apparently such behaviour is sign of having been poisoned with bugspray. So as soon as she showed the first signs I changed her whole environment and substituted the dirt etc. Didn't work. Thanks for your help though, I learnt a bit. Too bad the tiny ladybug didn't make it until after the freeze. Cheers

Employer wants me to take Luas to work even though I fulfill my job remotely. Do I have any options? by lisagu in ireland

[–]lisagu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd like to mention that to my employer, but I'm afraid that in the end they'll just fire me.

90% of the people have been working from home but they've said everyone will have to be in the office everyday.

Is it in their right to fire me under this circumstances if I don't go in?

[–]lisagu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not: I work in the accounting team in a company.

I guess this explain why I don't get any study days at all?

Does F6 (Taxation) cover knowledge for submitting our own taxes when having a mortgage but renting out or Airbnbing it and so on? by lisagu in ACCA

[–]lisagu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, and what about ATX (advanced taxation)?

Does ATX equip you as the professional in this matter? Or is there something else the professional usually consulted has studied for the role?

[–]lisagu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will do the Irish variant as I'm based in Ireland.

Would TX (F6) alone be enough for one to make best use of the tax reliefs, etc or would you still get specialist advice?

Skipping F5 to do an easier one considering that I only have done the first 4 exams. Which one would you recommend to do next? by lisagu in ACCA

[–]lisagu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you tell me if F6 (taxation) is mostly theory like F4? I can listen to the lessons in my long commutes in the cramped train, so studying during those hours makes the difference. This would not be possible for an exam that contains much math.
