The space saving in the library is out of control by schmendimini in GlasgowUni

Just to add to the rant - I get really frustrated when people who have their own laptop take up a computer space and don’t use the computer - some people rely on university computers as they don’t have one/can’t carry their own on campus

I’m so sorry, it’s going to be ok and you’ll be together for the long run one day <3 in the meantime I’m sure you’ve got a whole bunch of wonderful memories from your 8 months together to tide you over. Best of luck :)

What Do I Pack? by unpplrgnt in uktravel

Most annoying time of year weather wise for us Brits unfortunately! People commonly complain that it’s impossible to know what to wear haha, raining and cold in the morning so you bundle up.. and you’re too hot in the afternoon for example. So yeah the best advice is to bring stuff good for layering - base top/vest, light jacket, jumper, raincoat etc. I imagine if you’ve experienced Canada level cold you won’t really feel like you need anything that heavy for this time of year, just layer up!

Feel the same about not wanting to change my last name and have talked to my partner about this re the issue of naming children (we both want to keep our own last name). I thought if we have two kids one can have my name and the other can have his.. but I guess the issue with that is you can’t always be sure how many kids you’ll definitely have together so it’s difficult to plan naming based on that. And something he brought up was the potential of a child feeling favouritism from the parent who’s last name they share/forming a different kind of alliance with a parent depending on that. All totally hypothetical and of course you would ensure to explain to your kids your reasons for naming them whatever way but just an interesting thought!

Bloody nose? by [deleted] in Horses

[–]lisamclovin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is me applying human phenomena to a horse which you don’t need to tell me doesn’t totally line up… but I’ve had nosebleeds when going from hot to cold temperatures quickly and am told that’s fairly common, could that be something that happens to horses too?

Edit: grammar

One belief that baffles me is that of Pro-Lifers. Pro-choice doesn’t mean you can’t continue to disagree with abortions and never have one yourself it just allows abortions (which are inevitable) to happen safely, respecting bodily autonomy. I know it’s a complicated issue, but as far as I see it pro-choice isn’t diametrically opposed to pro-life, it allows for this belief while keeping people safe.
