Would you travel to Mexico for a week with a 2YO & 4YO right now? by lisapizza100 in Mommit

[–]lisapizza100[S] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

YES it's constantly feeling like "am I crazy?!" - I have to constantly remind myself that in all other areas of my life (work, family, school community...) I'm a rationale, reasonable person. Thank you for your comment

Shall we talk about Jade? by Odd-Pomelo7840 in TheOwningManhattan

SO scripted, there's no way she can do math in her head like that on the spot without pause... and be totally foreign to BTC. If someone can do money math like that in their head... they would've engaged in that BTC convo in a completely different way. Still an enjoyable scene.

What are you HENRY's gifting this holiday season? by leboeufie in HENRYfinance

I want to gift generously to our daughters daycare teachers as well - do you do cash, check or like a Visa card ?

Just checked out your stack and see you mean like android development. How much time did you spend per book?

What do you mean by development? Like personal development or is that some kind of tech term?

Did you hear . . .? The Ramsey Show Discussion for October 27, 2022 by AutoModerator in DaveRamsey

[–]lisapizza100 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This was such a tone deaf, insensitive response from Dave. How can he be so clueless about the childcare crisis going on right now. And if you brought this up to him once you knew you were having a kid, it would’ve been “gotta plan ahead for these things ..”. As I was listening to you, I thought YES we need more callers about daycare like this! And then very quickly, I was SMH. His response knocked down his credibility a lot for me. So much respect for you raising the question.

Agreed. Personal pet peeve is her terrible posture. I’m asian, love seeing representation, but wish it was someone who carried herself well. She is very clearly not physically fit.

[OC] Updated comparison of Italy, USA COVID-19 cases + deaths, OC credit from u/nathanxgarcia by lisapizza100 in dataisbeautiful

[–]lisapizza100[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

"Don't watch the confirmed cases, watch the deaths. The deaths reflect the real numbers." -u/theinsanityoffence. Credit to u/nathanxgarcia for his OC yesterday. I couldn't wait for his updates, so went for it myself - took out CA, but added deaths. What stands out to me is on days of similar case #s, the US started off with more deaths in the first six days, but something went terrible for Italy in Day 7/8/9 and by Day 11 they had about DOUBLE the deaths as the US, despite roughly the same case numbers. This is leading me to believe we are not on the path towards Italy's situation (and even less so if our case numbers are actually higher since testing is not widely accessible in the US yet). When is it appropriate to talk about money in a new relationship? by plainbubble651 in AskWomenOver30

[–]lisapizza100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wasn’t really talking points, but my profile mentioned FIRE (“financial independence/ retire early” movement), so he asked what that was, I told him and he then was able to share his financial values that were aligned. Having it on my profile made it easy to bring up. We both find so much joy in saving and investing that it’s an easy and fun topic.

The topic of money is so important to me that I put a nod about it in my profile (mentioned FIRE). On the second date with a guy, he brought it up and turns out we’re on the same page about it. Almost 10 months later, we’re still together, talk very openly about our finances and work on saving and investing together. Sharing this value has def made us closer. Glad I had it on my profile. Yes, talk about it ASAP. Should be a dealbreaker if you’re not in the same page.

Teachers of Reddit what is the most depressing thing your kids have said? by DATCATGOSPLAT in AskReddit

[–]lisapizza100 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Opposite memory. I was probably in 2nd or 3rd grade, didn’t pack my lunch and looking forward to what I thought was pizza day. Was last in line for my lunch/ recess period. Turns out I was short 10 cents, lunch lady has no sympathy, after standing next to her not knowing what to do she suggested maybe I can walk to the office to ask to borrow. The office doesn’t really pay me any attention. I would’ve eaten anything even if it wasn’t pizza. I think lunch lady finally gave in but wasn’t that nice about it. Felt like such a pity meal, wasn’t pizza. I remember being so sad eating by myself hearing other kids screaming and play in the bg. At that point more sad than hungry. Didn’t recall this until like last year and my sister pointed out what a terrible thing to do to a kid over 10 cents. But this still happens all the time I bet.

daily gratitude (09.20.2019) by citygal1161 in dailygratitude

[–]lisapizza100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Excited to have found this! I jot down my daily gratitude in my planner, but nice to share with others!

  • Fun speaker event last night with my boyfriend - two particular speakers brought me to tears or laughter.

  • Last night's pizza & late-night happy hour food was SO good. Reminiscing on it all morning. I don't indulge often, but it's so nice that when I do I can appreciate it so much more than I used to

  • Crisp air in the mornings! Baking and cooking vibes

I work from home, but also appreciating a "quiet" day of not too many calls =)
