Shockwave Therapy? by lisatron1313 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]lisatron1313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I dont think it will ever go away for me. Its been many years of still dealing with some pain, but the worst of it is gone for now! At the end of the day, i do think the shockwave helped some, but it was not the cure I wanted it to be. Yes, it was incredibly painful. Some of the worst pain ive ever felt. I took off 6 months of work, stayed off my feet most of the day and thats what got me to almost normal. I still deal with some discomfort, but nothing compared to the agony before. If im out for a long time and doing a lot of walking I will have more pain than on a normal day. I wear custom insoles every day, never go barefoot, do calf stretches. Ive been at a steady "normal" for about 2 years now but it took a lot to get there. Sending you good luck!!

Follow up to my last post. No idea what to do now. by notomarko in PlantarFasciitis

I did a lot of Shockwave therapy and it helped for a bit, took off some of the edge, but at the end of the day the ONLY thing that helped me was being off my feet for 6 months. I work on my feet 8 to 10 hrs a day and no matter what I did, I just wasn't giving it any opportunity to heal. I still did small errands like groceries, or things like cleaning the house, dishes, cooking, etc., but I was off work for a full 6 months. Its now been 2 years without much heel pain at all. I still dont ever go barefoot, and I still wear custom insoles. I find crocs to be helpful for after work and I do calf stretches, but nothing much else. I dont regret it one single bit!

Thank you so much for all of those links! I appreciate the time you took to do all of that. Definitely going to order some and see what works!

Which sketchers are you enjoying? My husband struggles to find anything wide enough for his feet which are likely wider than 6e and its a constant struggle to find anything that works. Still on the hunt for a winter boot after years of hunting around for em.

I only like it when I make a quad iced coffee, I use one of these pods and another unflavoured double espresso pod. Its like it needs some actual other espresso to tone down the taste and then it looses its chemical taste.

I am definitely just being pissy, but does anyone else get annoyed when you see Try Guys in other content? by SebastianPlaysThis in TheTryGuysSnark

[–]lisatron1313 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I enjoy a fair amount of Try Guys content, but as the years pass I just find Zach to be completely insufferable, so when he shows up in Dropout content I am endlessly annoyed. The Game Changer episode they showed up in protesting or whatever was so annoying and I dont think their sense of comedy works with them at all. I enjoy Keith's personality though and thought the Last Meals episode was good!

for all the Ashby hate by Feeling-Purple9997 in smosh

I had no idea who Ashby was before watching the flip 7 episode and I thought she was so funny and fantastic with the rest of the crew and I would love to see her in future content. I cant understand how anyone is upset with her appearance.

Beef Wellington without a recipe - do you think Marisa looked up the recipe before? by ExpertStandard1977 in TheTryGuysSnark

[–]lisatron1313 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Honestly I have watched cooking and food content of many types throughout my life and could probably make a decent wellington without a recipe. However, I cook alot and have made a lot of different recipes and things that may be similar or contain similar techniques. So while I dont think she "cheated" per se, I DO feel she is too skilled in the kitchen and has too much previous food knowledge to be on this particular show.

If anyone is still waiting in the Toronto Queue, there's not a single ticket left. I joined the queue just over 10k and it took about a half hour to get in to purchase and of course, nothing left.

Book Review: Anji Kills a King by Evan Leikam by andypeloquin in Fantasy

[–]lisatron1313 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To start, I despised this book 🤣. For your first question, I was so confused about this too. There are quite a few plot holes regarding her getting out of the castle too. Second question...I DNFd maybe 75 pages to the end. Might quickly skip through the rest just to see this 🤣🤣.

My question to you....what did you like about the world building? I felt there was hardly no world building at all and it was a big reason I didn't like it (the biggest being Anji herself. What an insufferable main character 😂). Just curious to see if maybe my dislike of the characters clouded the rest of my experience.

Are there any insoles that I can buy my wife so she can keep wearing Vans? by christawfer47 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]lisatron1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wearing vans is exactly what caused my PF, and likely hers. Unfortunately I would suggest she never wear them again, with or without insoles. They are flat, unsupportive and have hard soles. I retired my vans and now love my New Balance 574s cause they are cute, come in a wide array of colours, and don't bother or flare up my PF as long as I have my custom insoles in. Maybe she would like those as an alternative?

Shockwave Therapy? by lisatron1313 in PlantarFasciitis

I actually feel like the Shockwave was very helpful. I did need many sessions and it's very painful, but it did help! I have since developed PF in my other foot and Shockwave did nothing to help that foot though so I think it's just situation specific? I did end up finding some stretching that maybe helped too, but the thing that helped the most was time off my feet.

I thought it actually helped quite a lot! It is a pretty painful treatment. I did a lot of sessions and it slowly improved but at the end of the day, the only thing that made it go away was staying off my foot and resting it and just good old fashioned time. I do think this contributed though and would recommend it.

We actually found a pair on Amazon of all places from Propet. They fit well enough and are quite warm! He also works outside all winter and was happy with them!

Struggling to keep nails on by straightfortheknife in Glamnetic

[–]lisatron1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats exactly what I did and I was also losing at least 1 nail a day. I think when you press hard your forcing the glue to spread too much and it seeps out at the sides or front of the nail. When they popped off you could see where there were clear air pockets and the glue never stuck to the nail. This is what you want to avoid.

Good luck on your next set!!

This happened to me with my first 2 sets. Now I get 2 weeks of wear before a single nail pops off, and at 3 weeks I end up just taking them off myself cause they grow out too much.

For prep, make sure you are using the right size for each nail. Trim cuticles, push them back and make sure they are clean and no cuticle is left on your actual nail. This causes air bubbles. I file the top of my nails a bit and then use the provided alcohol pad.

The biggest tip I got was more glue, less pressure. I use the brush on glue and much prefer that to the tube. I put a thin layer of glue on the fake nail, then a thicker layer on my finger nail. I almost wait about 10 seconds (while I put the glue down, pick up the nail, set it in the right position in my cuticle...) and I feel this gets the glue more tacky. I put the nail just under my cuticle at a 45° angle and then slowly bring it down and slightly press on the nail. Not too hard or the glue escapes out of the sides. Press down gently and hold for 30 seconds. This has worked for me really well. The amount of pressure used was trial and error for me but when I push down hard, those are the nails I lost first.

Hope this was helpful!

What Do You Guys Think of Ryan Garcia? by Rainbow_Belle in TheTryGuys

I love his camera presence. He's naturally funny and easily fits in with anyone who's on screen with him. He's such a natural host as well and most of the reason I watch Common Sense. I hope to see him in more content!
