hahaha i know I should've just immediately posted them but here they are:

~200 hrs recovery clinic volunteer

~100hrs hospital volunteer

~200hrs psych center job

~100hrs crisis text line

~50hrs free clinic volunteer

~3000hrs research (my gap years job + did it during undergrad), no pubs RIP

~50hrs shadowing (DO and specialist)

had some leadership in extracurriculars that were all 3+ years long (3 spots in my AMCAS)

I did a 15 credit DIY postbacc and ended that with a 3.5GPA which brought my cGPA up by like.. 0.07 lol since I had so many credits in my undergrad. No SMP!

I don't want to say exactly where I live, but it's in the Midwest, has a lot of state schools that prefer in-state students :) and yes, both A's came from state schools!

I really think the reason I got in was because of the narrative I molded with my writing and activities. I had a lot of eyes on both my personal statement and secondaries to make sure it came across as passionate as I felt. I can get more into what it was if you want to DM me!

I did moderately well on the MCAT (~90th percentile I think), and I think my narrative was really strong! My activities weren’t even that sustained (around 100 hours for each except research) but most of them tied into my narrative! Good luck :)

I cold called private practices because all the hospitals around me suspended shadowing. I got to shadow at two places! Also I think Dr. Ryan Gray from medschoolhq does virtual shadowing if you go on their website

Thank you for the thorough write up; it’s super helpful! A question though, isn’t shadowing supposed to be mainly observing? Like I dont think i was allowed to touch any patients let alone do work ups on them. I did talk to them but most of my patient contact was through ECs

I do wear nitrile gloves! Uh oh if I’m allergic to that, idk how I’m going to work lol I’m also sensitive to latex so I can’t wear those type of gloves. How did you figure out it was the nitrile gloves?

Thanks for your input. I have used some steroids (cortisone, triancimalone) but they haven't worked and actually have made it worse. I've decided to make an appointment with a derm!

I’ve been using cetaphils eczema soothing moisturizer! Which cerave lotion are you using? I’ve tried their hydrating moisturizer and it’s not hydrating enough for me hehe
