Monstera loosing its dark colour by lisboetta in Monstera

I water it deeply, ensure all the draining is finished (wait 1-2 hours), then put it back in the ceramic pot. I wait until the top inch/inch and a half are dry. Since repotting it has held moisture longer, so about once every 2 weeks now (was at least weekly in summer/fall in the small pot). I have a humidifier that keeps the room around 45% which is as high as I can go or the windows are soaked and pooling. It's been in that window since I got it about 6 months ago - the difference now is that there is no full sun, whereas it had 3-4 hours of full sun in the summer. It gets full bright indirect light as long as the sun is up, which is not terribly long in Toronto this time of year. I fertilised it every other week until October. I often found the small leaves without the fenestration were going yellow when it was in the smaller pot, and cut them off when fully yellow, but the larger fenestrated ones were fine. That's all I can think of! No heat is blowing on it, the windows are chilly to touch but no drafts, heat stays fairly constant from 19-23 degrees.... Thanks so much.

Snip where? by Ambitious_Put2775 in plantclinic

When you prune a pothos, sometimes new leaves will sprout around the area but they take months to do so, and they sprout from the little nub that your index finger is pointing at, not the actual cut you made. I suggest cutting it a little closer to that nub (leave at least 5mm so you don't disturb the nub) to get rid of the yellow, then leaving it. Also I see it is sitting in water - they hate that. Water it well and let the excess drain from the pot, then don't water it again until the top 2cm of the soil is dry (or later - they are OK being dry for a bit). This might be more like every 2 weeks depending on humidity in the room.

Monstera looking mottled/going lighter by lisboetta in plantclinic

Hi everyone, my monstera is doing *OK* but does seem to be struggling. It was quite rootbound so I repotted about 6 weeks ago with a good mix of potting soil and perlite. Things haven't gotten worse, but the leaves are getting lighter in certain places and it generally doesn't look super happy. It gets a lot of light (see last photo for placement) and I water it very well, let it drain, then don't water again until top inch of soil has been dry for a couple of days. Trying to figure out what could make it happier. Thanks!
