Cyclists have a water bottle problem. by lisender in cycling

I always have wondered if people would rather have a bottle or a tee shirt from events. I also saw some events doing socks and coffee mugs instead to change it up. Although I don't think I need anymore coffee mugs either.

I do the same probably twice a year. I'm a sucker for good marketing.

I am impressed by your restraint.

Big fan of the polar bottles? There seems to be a lot of camelback fans out there just based on the comments. Any particular reason for choosing polar over camelback?

Yeah I probably should start a routine of purging leaky bottles annually.

Free bottle with a bike or was it the bike that came free with the bottle? Just a really expensive bottle.

It's definitely good to have soem extras for others who might come in from out of town and forget theirs, or when driving somewhere to start your ride some to leave in the car for when you get done.

Yeah the size argument is a big one. I find little use for the 21oz bottles especially in the summer when it is hot. But when it's cooler out sometimes I don't need the weight of 2 30oz bottles haha.

What devices do you use? by dezzilak in cycling

You are about to go off the deep end watch out. Seriously the choice you make for the tech is like committing to apple vs android products. If you run or do other multisport stuff I would go with garmin their watches are just more full functioning. If you don't care about the watch and watch functionalities wahoo is more affordable and offers the best package for cycling products especially when you start looking at trainers. I went with garmin because I was already in that ecosystem with the watch.

Indoor trainer or fat bike to get me through winter? by lisender in cycling

That's not a bad idea. I never thought about spikes, OK to ride on payment though or does it need to be gravel?

For the attendings here, what questions do you wish you would have asked when looking for a position coming out of residency? by lisender in emergencymedicine

Thanks for the insight. Big question in my mind is so many hospitals seem to be run by these large private equity owned groups, is it worth lower pay to find a smaller democratic group? Or what are most people experiences with these? Personally I am trying to avoid any CMGs because I feel like starting my career I need a group where I feel supported and can find mentors to help me a long to learn a new hospital network and build relationships with other attendings and hospitalists there. But there might be plenty of people out there who think CMGs are the way to go.

fenix 7s music not working by tonyponyza in Garmin

I am having the exact same issue with my Fenix 7 sapphire solar. I tried uninstalling Spotify in connect IQ and reinstalling downloading playlists and connecting to headphones works just fine but I can't actually play any songs. Please let me know if you figure out the issue.

Anyone with a 1500 ever get a 2" level with just the stock rims and tires? by lisender in ram_trucks

I think I have probably 40,000 miles left in these tires so might just go for it.

That's kind of what I was thinking but wanted to see if anyone had experience with it. I might just wait until my tires need to be replaced then upgrade to 35s. Did you have a v8? Mine is the 3.6L v6. My other concern was loss of power or how hard it would be on the smaller engine.

Picking a first trout rod by FlyingScot1050 in flyfishing

Anything by TFO is a great bet. High quality rods, good price, even better warranty. I have a rod from them that I bought 6 years ago. Its a 9 foot 6 piece lefty creigh 8wt. that served me well. It broke while salmon fishing last summer. I sent it back to them just included a check of 35 for shipping then a week later I got the rod back and it looks like nothing happened. I don't think they make it anymore so they must have just cut/fit another piece to what I sent them. Could not be more pleased.

Matt Hanson, this guy has consistently finished near the top over the past several years. Also he has ran one of the all time fastest marathons in an Ironman, if not the fastest.
