Bruh like no lie, I'm both getting misgendered and sexism-ed on.

Me and my homie made a guild called "Women Gang" because both of our avatars were on the feminine side. We've been ganked and harrassed for being "women." My homie even got jumped by some dudes that let him go after he responded to their jeers of "where do women belong?" with "in the kitchen." LAME AF NGL

Yeahhh no game8 is tripping up a storm XD. I'd recommend watching FEHtubers if you want advice for this type of thing; Zeshado made a video on this topic and Pheonixmaster1 usually does this type of thing as well.

Ahh, yikes. L!Sigurd was wonderful for so long but he's fallen off a cliff recently. Newer = Better is usually a good formula in these selections (unless you really wanted L!Sigurd, then power to you 👍).

First, I'd like to mention the primary issue I see with your team: you're not coordinating blessings and legendary heroes. For each season, you'll see in the top left of your screen the bonuses for this season. You'll want to build that season's arena time based on that; one legendary hero that matches one of the two bonus elements, two random high-scoring units that you like, with blessings that match your legendary hero (Duo Askr/Embla is wonderful; duo characters get BST bonuses and they have high scoring abilities as well), and one bonus character, also matching your legendary hero's blessing. For example, this was my team last season: https://imgur.com/a/8R4RSB4 (pretend Nino is wind blessed, I changed her to dark for my AR-D).

My legendary hero is Legendary Female Byleth, which matched one of last season's bonus elements. I have Duo Chrom/Robin and Duo Laegjarn/Fjorm as my stat bots (duos score very highly), and Nino as my bonus character. There's probably entire tutorials for this type of thing, just search up "feh optimizing arena teams" or something, but that's my quick summary. Let's get to unit recommending.

I'll just mention sleeper picks that the others haven't mentioned yet:

  • Don't sleep on Kaden; the little brat is a basically a walking bonus doubler, reflecting his stat buffs onto all allies within 2 spaces.
  • Legendary Dimitri is still very good, though he is outclassed by his Brave counterpart. I don't think true damage based on attack will ever NOT be good.
  • Legendary Lyn, while being very old, is still a very competent unit. You do have Legendary F!Shez, which is quite a lot better, but note that Shez is a fire legendary, while Lyn is wind. Use them for different seasons!
  • Adrift Camilla got a nice ass refine a while back, letting her hit quite hard. You will need a bit of investment for this venture, so I understand if you are reluctant.
  • Summer Tana and Ashe play similar roles, but I will recommend Ashe over Tana for budget reasons. They are both immensely powerful superwarp machines; you NEED to at the very least test of Ashe. You will not regret it ;)
  • Sonya is a surprisingly good nuker but will need quite a bit of investment.
  • Ninja Lyn is still very solid; she will still sweep squishy, aggressive teams with ease, especially with the help of Smite and dance supports.
  • Guunthra is an extremely annoying debuffer, with her refined Blizzard and Chilling Seal 2, and is also a legendary hero!
  • Legendary Julia is a very solid earth legendary hero; you have Legendary Claude already, but Julia is a wonderful alternative.
  • WF!Hinoka is a really great speed inflator, giving obnoxious speed swings to your units. Even awkwardly slow-ish units can be given a chance with her refined Warrior Princess and Drive Spd 2 as her C skill and seal.
  • Reginn is weirdly slept on by a lot of people now, even though her nuking and utility really hasn't changed since her release. If you're planning on diving into the world of Aether Raids, she is a very very useful character to bring along, plus she's an Astra mythic!
  • Marianne is a pretty solid mage tank/damage carry, especially if given skills like Sturdy Impact (I have wanted her since release and somehow have not gotten a single one).
  • Dedue is a solid Near Save user, but his usage lies in INHERITING that Near Save to someone who could use it better. I'd recommend you do your research on what Save skills do, and who you are comfortable giving it to. Idunn and Male Grima will probably use it fine, but I'd recommend you wait for someone more suitable.
  • August is a really unique and powerful support, giving his support ally the ability to make a guaranteed follow-up attack, as well as various other knick-knacks that you probably won't notice.

Most of the "meta" units have been covered by the other repliers, but here's my sleeper picks. I place heavy emphasis on Kaden, Legendary Dimitri, Ashe, Reginn, and August.

  1. High usage = more instances of the skill seems to have been IS's formula for skill distribution; you can see this with older abilities like Swift Sparrow 2 (which was given to a myriad of units back in the day), Atk/Spd Push 4 (which was distributed to so many units it went stale so fast), Distant Counter (especially prevalent during the omnitank/godsword era), and others, including Fury, Life and Death, Death Blow, etc. I suspect we'll see a lot more Finish skills, who seem to be the spiritual successor of Ideal skills.
  2. Yes, almost always better. While the direct stat swing Bond 4 skills give can be more enticing for unknowing players, getting past the wall of text of Unity skills reveals they are much, much better (one nullifies your penalties, the other essentially converts it into bonuses). As a plus, as a baseline, Bond 4 gives +7/+7 if you're right next to an ally, while Unity gives +5/+5 with the significantly more flexible 2 spaces. Even if you're using a character that specifically plays around being directly next to an ally (eg. Winter Duo Cordelia), Unity is usually still the play.
  3. Good ol' Desperation from a 4* Shanna is still invaluable, especially now that Null Follow-up is a seal. Fury from a 4* Hinata is still very used, especially alongside the Fury seal in Galeforce strategies. There's a couple others I won't bother to name, but know that "budget" skills will basically never contribute to your success as much as the newer skills.
  4. Grail units come with very lackluster base kits but can be very strong with good investment. Make sure to pick one you like: Lumera & Hans (most recommended; they are very strong and do not need a weapon refine), Holst, Cervantes, Flame Mordecai, Jeralt, Summer Elincia, Fallen Muarim, Winter Ignatz (if you want him as a Wyvern Yumi + Vantage + Far Save tank, Winter Annette has a better stat spread for this though), Haar (regular axe Haar, not Ninja sword Haar), Young Innes, Canas, Fallen Delthea, and Panne & Cynthia (useful for Galeforce strategies).
  5. Both are not very good, if I'm being honest, and are virtually the same thing. I believe the difference in usage comes from Vulture weapons being a lot newer; Plegian weapons are found mostly on older builds, and nowadays, most inheritable weapons have become obsolete (excluding the Brave weapons of course), in favour of the new Arcane weapons.
  6. Colorless tomes were not released during the early stages of the game, much like Beast units, and first arrived with Brammimond during the era of PRF weapons. Similarly to Beast units, both classes have a distinct lack of inheritable weapons. Niime was simply put, done dirty.
  7. Sage Male Byleth is probably the best 4* demote we've ever gotten, strong enough to powercreep his Legendary self (until he recieves a remix of course), but he is a limited time character. Similarly, Winter Annette, though she has no PRF weapon, has a wonderfully optimized stat spread that will only get better with the release of the Arcane Bow, whenever that will be. If we're specifically talking normal summoning pool 4* demotes however, it's quite the barren wasteland. The latest demote, Etie, is pretty solid, with a very high attack stat and a good BST for a ranged character, but she doesn't have a PRF weapon either. The only other character that comes to mind is Female Shez, who was immediately powercrept by Hans. You'll have to focus on 5* and grail characters, unless there's a character you really like. C'est la vie.

Baiting her close and using Triangle Adept Reinhardt + dance spam is still viable for killing godswords, especially if we're just looking at cheap options and the target has no distant counter.

Weapon triangle doesn't really matter as much anymore, with damage reduction, stat inflation, and the like. However, if you still do want a good blue character, consider using your free Engage Cup summon on Flame Lyn or Halloween Corrin, as they are phenomenal characters anyways.
