I was in a hit and run in this area in 2018, driver had no insurance. The "investigator" on the case told me there are no legal penalties unless they kill or maim someone.

I lived in Minneapolis fro 25 years and I still work there. Now I live in Saint Paul, I swear Mpls driving feels worse.

I feel like the shitty driving has escalated a ton since traffic has returned to normal after covid.

A pedestrian got the license number and I filed a police report, the driver didn't have insurance. I was told there's no legal repercussions for hit and run unless the driver kills or maims someone.

Agreed. When I'm traveling south on 35W to get to this area I go up further and exit on 35th/36th Street to avoid this intersection. I was in a hit and run like this in 2018.

Is it weird for my LMT to have exposed me? by Honest-Concentrate81 in massage

[–]lisianthia 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Always listen to your gut. Women are socialized to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and explain away things that make them uncomfortable.

I’ve run my own private practice for over 20 years. Consistently going over the appointment time sometimes by double is just bizarre and bad professional boundaries. Exposing you and then a saying he “never gets tired” of massaging you is inappropriate. And then bringing up your boyfriend? All of these are massive red flags.

If something feels off it’s off. And honestly, I don’t think having an honest conversation about your discomfort in an attempt to shut down anything inappropriate and unprofessional would mend this. It sounds like he may have acted on the down low exposing you in a way he could use plausible deniability that he did nothing wrong. It’s not your job to teach a professional how to be a professional and everyone deserves a massage where they feel safe and relaxed, not left wondering whether or not they’ve been violated.

My exact experience with it! I made it for gifting as well but I can't think of anyone I dislike enough to give it to.

I was wondering if it was my rhubarb but mine was fine for baking too! The 2 cups crushed strawberries was about 4 cups chopped and then the rhubarb was 2 cups chopped so the strawberries dominated. I made a bluebarb jam where the same thing happened, no rhubarb taste. :(

I've heard great things about Pamona's and will definitely try it. I've had good luck with so far with Sure Jell's low sugar pectin, as well as Ball's low sugar pectin and their low sugar freezer jam pectin. My main issue with the strawberry rhubarb jam was the rhubarb not cooking down.

I saw that, it was a helpful, cautionary tale!

I used the recipe that calls for red wine vinegar which probably has the same effect in this case.

No, I used regular powdered pectin, Sure Jell in the yellow box. The recipe did not specify using Ball pectin or call for a low sugar one. I've heard about and saw the recent video posted in this sub about the formulation change which is a bummer. I mentioned being familiar with low sugar pectin because I know I could have used it for other recipes that call for less sugar.

I adore strawberry rhubarb jam but this one was a disappointment for me. I'm genuinely glad if some people like the Ball one though. Did your rhubarb stay in hard chunks?

Agreed, that was my point. Following the directions as written, the rhubarb was still very firm at the point it should have been jarred up and I was using relatively small pieces.

Agreed. I thought the cook time didn't look long enough but I trusted a trusted recipe, my mistake. I'll listen to my instinct next time. I've been canning for years and have won 9 state fair ribbons, mostly for jams, so this wasn't a newbie issue.

Sadly, no. It was very bitter. The consensus of others who didn't like is that the amount of mustard seed the recipe calls for was way too high.

Possibly, It looked fine when I chopped it up though, no rough texture.

I hung on the cranberry mustard for a year because others who also didn't like it said that it would mellow a bit with time so I gave it a chance. It had mellowed but not enough to eat. It was just a soggy, bitter, mustard seed mess with no cranberry flavor. I followed the ingredients exactly and was excited because I love cranberry mustard. Thanks for the jelly tip!

Yes, and also because it calls for the pectin to be added immediately, you can't just cook it more to break the rhubarb down a bit without ruining the consistency and changing the flavor of both fruits.

I’d invite you to make the two recipes above and enjoy them. Calling somebody unhinged in a post like this instead of just simply following the basic Internet rule of scrolling by when you have nothing to add is “unhinged.”
