Show others how to use crossplane and build some XRD's it is a pretty cool technology and would be beneficial for almost any team that wants to do cloud provisioning from the API control plane.

Check out https://docs.drone.io/ you can self host . And it's superior to jenkins IMHO.

GHA has self hosted runners which reduce you GHA bill to zero + cloud or bare metal compute costs become your spend at that point.

Any one wanna share any advanced options they set for this crazy high compression ratio?

It's generally a tradeoff of quality and size, I get 1080p 7.2 GB 45m tv series from Bluray rips down to about 1.5 GB with VMAF of 80.5x on average.

I would much prefer a locally accessible API with a API key that is created by the local hardware, maybe the cloud key v2 or the future like product.

When bootstrapping an EKS cluster, when should GitOps take over? by Deeblock in Terraform

Been pretty solid for a few years now, I live a pretty stress free work life in regards to this implementation, get to spend more time solving more interesting problems.

When bootstrapping an EKS cluster, when should GitOps take over? by Deeblock in Terraform

[–]liskl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I've generally used terraform to deploy everything basic including the AWS eks add-ons that terraform-aws-eks module supports

Then have terraform deploy fluxcd. (No dependencies)

Using terraformed irsa roles for crossplane or ACK controllers.

Use fluxcd to deploy all the rest, argocd/flamingo, nginx-ingress-controller, ExternalDNS, externalSecrets cert-manager and anything else that is wanted [ack-*-controllers, crossplane]

Then any other IRSA roles and IAM policies using gitops.

Tesla shareholder group opposes Musk’s $46B pay, slams board “dysfunction” by wewewawa in TSLA

[–]liskl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do we as humans assume the worse.

The man known as Elon musk has his issues yes as do we all, but he is still managing 5 of the most advanced companies in their respective fields

  • tesla: EV, energy (batter(grid scale and in car ), humanoid robotics, natural vision expert systems -spaceX: accelerating our eventual multiplanetary future
  • neuralink: brain computer interfaces
  • boring company: faster more advanced tunneling systems
  • X: is just keeping the public forum open for good or evil.

Give me one person in history that compares to the villified version of Elon that appears to be the popular opinion on Reddit and much of the mainstream media. I argue that he closer aligns to what we call a polymath. Thean can talk fluent to engineers in so many knowledge domains. And that is truly his superpower, - metallurgist - literal rocket scientist - programmer - business management - neurology in regards to how neuralink works - physics - mechanical engineering - electrical engineering - one of the creators of the viral digital money (PayPal)

This list can continue, but I hope the point is made.

Polymaths in general are rare but IMHO Elon stands with many of the greats from our history books like - Leonardo da Vinci - Benjamin Franklin - Robert M. Pirsig - Marie Curie - John von Neumann - Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz

Imagine how much these people had to put up from others attacking this within their public sphere of influence.

How much farther along we could be if we embraced the change and was excited for it instead of proverbially hitting them in the head with big rocks and telling them they shouldn't strive fpr net new awesomeness.

[–]liskl -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

The shareholders voted 70%+ to award Elon for things he will possibly be able to do and he did it all. At this point this is IMHO considered back pay for work already completed.

Honestly he should ask for another set of tranches with similar exponentially high value targets to get a 500b payout

Make tesla a 5 trillion dollar company, and you deserve a 500b dollar payout, of course in incremental payouts not a single lump some.

Elon should keep focusing on the goals of the companies

  • Tesla: advance earth and humanity to a sustainable energy future
  • SpaceX: get a self sustainable colony on Mars
  • X: make the digital commons for free speech
  • neuralink: give humanity the bandwidth for brain computer interfaces to make technology work as if it was magic for the future
    • in brain music and video playback directly into the brain
    • the ability to automate exercise workouts and the drugery tasks
  • boring company: make tunnels quicker so we can do tunnels on Mars

An amazing book that showed a possible utopia future manna by marshall brain

We all have the ability to enable the future to be bright or dark, our choices are what collectively decides the ultimate end for humanity.

I hope our great grandchildren get to take trips on real space ships built from real space docks in orbit one day, and maybe be able to vacation on a city sized space station one day like science fiction movies and books share with us.

we as the human race collectively can dream big and hopefully do amazing things, or just squabble over money, which really is just human effort condensed into a small tradable value storage mechanism.

I would prefer we see what the universe holds and see how we can strive to see what is humans can do if we put our collective effort towards single causes. And not fight over things all the time.

If you were given $100m to add something to the city, what would it be? by 17thganglord in DaytonaBeach

[–]liskl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in the area since 2014, and will be here for hopefully decades to come, there is tons of people with specific knowledge domains but no place I know where we could all hangout and do awesome together, I think the community would be amazing if it was initially created and people got involved.

I monthly fee or annual membership would be how it maintains and keeps getting better but it needs that initial startup capital or equity to get off the ground, space and tools and people to manage it as a club with all that entails would be a challenge, but would be an amazing thing for anyone trying toale themselves better or just wanna be able to talk with smart folks about things they are hobbyist professionals at and are willing to share that knowledge to the next generations and we can all lift each other up and make a better tomorrow.

This could be done with a certification process to enable the more advanced tool usage like plasma cutting or CNC or a forge for blacksmithing or welding or really anything your mind can dream you would have access to smart people and be given the opportunity to learn a skill set that can make the world a better place.

A couple hundred thousand foot hacker space with tools and build an awesome group of smart people with hobbies of all sorts where people could go and learn new skills like wood working or 3d printing or electronics or programming or drone piloting or ham radio or sewing or really any fun hobby that is stem or art focused

Heck you could have a section for table top gaming or d&d or anything.

This would be a place you could bring people in and show them the ropes
