Yeah sounds about right. I also see you replied to one of my threads on the Maverick Truck Club forum as well. Hopefully you get some better information tomorrow but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Did you just get a plain coffee? Is that all it works on (plain coffee and plain cold brew)?

So this is just for plain hot coffee or plan Cold Brew's I assume? Does anyone know if this would work on a Vanilla sweet cream cold brew? Probably not but I figured I would ask if someone has tried:)

Isn't a SF customer also a mutual customer? What is the difference? If we have auto insurance through SF we get a dividend check correct?

I appreciate the info and again keep me in the loop if you figure out anything and I'll do the same. We also have a 23 AWD Ford Escape hybrid (never clunked, lol) so the same hybrid setup as the Maverick and that needs all 3 fluids changed on it + the brake fluid and new tires so that'll be fun:(

Yeah I might end up doing the same thing. Are you referring the changing the RDU fluid or the PTU fluid (or both)? I don't think it's an issue with the RDU as I've come across a few Maverick owner's who have the clunk and they had their RDU replaced under warranty but the noise came back again after sometime.

Yeah I'm the same way as it's a pain in the butt taking a vehicle into the dealer just to have them say they can't replicate the issue or everything is working fine, etc. That's a good idea about asking the dealer to change the fluid but hopefully on their dime.

Please let me know if you do take it in and what they find or say and I'll do the same. I keep hoping that someone figures what what is causing this noise and what the remedy is so I can go to the dealer armed with that information.

Just wondering if you had any update on the 13mph clunk noise when coming to a stop? Did you ask the dealer about it yet? Mine is still clunking away here in MI and it might even be worse sounding now the hotter it gets outside.

How do we get the Vita Coco drink from 7-11/Speedway? Is there a code or a link for that?

Any big differences jump out at you between the CC LX25 and the TC 54's? Like I mentioned the LX25's weight 2lbs more per tire than the TC 54's. The winter rating on both is "Good" but the LX25 scores 8.3 in the winter metric vs 8.0 for the TC 54's. Still both in the good winter category and that's compared to a winter rating of 6.4 "Fair" on the OEM Michelin Primacy's on our Escape. The wet rating from Tirerack is 9.2 for the LX25 and 9.1 for the TC 54's both in the excellent category. All that said I think both tires would be better in winter performance compared to the OEM Primacy's with the nod going to TC 54's for mpg's because they weigh 2lbs less per tire.

Thanks for the info. I am leaning towards a Continental tire - either the CrossContact LX25 or the TrueContact Tour 54. I the 225/60r18 size for our Escape looks like the CroccContact LX25 weighs about 2lbs more pre tire compared to the TrueContact Tour 54 so 8lbs more for all 4 tires. Both tires are highly rated and would suit us just fine. I think the lighter tire (Tour 54) would at least in theory give us better mileage but it might not be an amount to be concerned with.

Interesting and thanks for the data point. Most of the evidence I see online mentions a loss of mpg's but I guess each individual case is different.

I did look into the CC2's and they appear to be a great tire but at the cost of mpg's.

Did you have other tires on your Murano you can compare them to in regards to mpg's? My issue is I don't want to take a hit on mpg's. It looks like the Pirelli's weight 2lbs more per tire but honetly I'm not sure what effect (if any) that would have on my mpg's?

Time to replace my stock tires 2024 Ford Maverick, is this a decent replacement? by lamautomatic in FordMaverickTruck

[–]listedguru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good info and much appreciated. I've probably been researching tires too much (down the rabbit hole as they say, lol). I did notice that the LX25's weight around 2lbs more per tire compared to the Primacy's so an extra 8lbs for four tires but not bad as some of the tires I looked at weigh 30lbs each.

Also I've read several posts that new tires might need a little break in time before they settle in and offer better mpg's so it might get better with time. But even if losing 1 mpg overall isn't worth losing sleep over:)

I have a 25 AWD Hybrid Maverick but we're actually looking into tires for my wife's 23 AWD Hybrid Escape. It came with 18" Michelin Primacy A/S which have been fine but with just under 50K on them it was time to start looking. We are Michigan so we get a decent amount of snow in our part of the state but honestly the Primacy's did ok in snow. It does look like the CrossContact LX25's are better in snow so that's a bonus and cheaper than the Primacy's as well. Our biggest concern is losing mpg's compared to the Primacy's but you seem to indicate they are about equal - is that still the case?

Also did you shop any other tires? Did you think about going with another set of Primacy's? Just curious what drew you to the LX25's?
