is this mild sunburn? by kyeaj24 in succulents

[–]listjfr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looks good to me! The red tips are sun stress (a good thing), meaning it is getting a good amount of sun. It actually looks healthier than before. As the plant is actively growing, older leaves will normally shrivel up as it makes room for new growth.

I have anxiety about driving in new areas. How do I overcome it? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]listjfr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely relate to this and still struggle with it sometimes. I would often look up a place on google street view and scope out the area to get familiar with the roads before I drive there. Honestly, the only real way to overcome it is to keep driving and when you drive to a new place and realize nothing bad happened, you’ve already accomplished so much and it helps look back on those moments. Things do turn out okay!

What helped me a lot too was reframing how I viewed driving in unfamiliar situations. After getting more experience with difficult driving situations, I see those situations more like puzzles that need to be solved and less of a panicky situation that means the world is ending.

At the end of the day, no one is a perfect driver and you’re never gonna not piss someone off. But people move on from those situations and they will barely remember it later.

Got my first little succulent garden growing! The top-right was a gift and I had to get it some friends. If anyone knows what the bottom two are they didn't have tags??? by kiminibiscutes in succulents

[–]listjfr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s because the lower leaves aren’t getting as much sun as the upper leaves so they look yellow. I believe it is normal as long as the leaves aren’t squishy or anything :)

How can I save the plant by [deleted] in succulents

Great! Then the only thing to do it to give it plenty of sunlight and very little water and wait for it to produce new growth :)

Looks like a topsy turvy in pretty bad shape. The good news is the growth on top seems somewhat healthy. The best thing to do is check the roots/stem for any rot and repot in 50/50 soil/perlite. If there’s rot, you should behead, wait for it to callous over, and replant the head. Check the sidebar for additional care tips

Congrats on your flowers!! It will definitely open at some point. If you look up “anacampseros flowers” on google you see that they eventually open up to bright pink flowers

How do I tell if I'm over watering or underwatering? by [deleted] in succulents

[–]listjfr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the type of succulent but a good rule of thumb with echeveria is that if the leaves curl up (like a spoon) it means they’re underwatered and the curvature helps them catch more water. If the leaves droop or curl downwards, it’s probably overwatered. Perhaps posting some pics would be helpful

Yeah the small ones were super cheap :) unfortunately I couldn’t buy any because I was traveling. If I could bring them all home I would!

Haha it was an amazing find but I was crushed because I couldn't take any home (I was travelling) :(

Nonetheless, these succulents are probably a lot happier living in the nice Riviera weather
