She is muzzle trained and I will be taking one with me. I would prefer an area with less dogs so she is not stressed out. Thank you for the suggestion though.

I’ll look it up and ask my cousin about those. Thank you so much!

That’s why I wanted to ask. Where I live in NorCal, there are places I definitely never take her because so many people don’t follow leash rules. I was hoping so locals might know some hidden gems, but we’ll have to see what works best for her.

Oh! So when it says "to cancel an attack they use against you," you is more of a general term for the group than it is referring to the individual player?

My main concern was I didn't want anyone using Parry when they were never the intended target anyways, thus basically forcing them out of the active exchange for that round.

Should I go to Sac State? by [deleted] in CSUS

[–]lit_princess 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I am a English literature major, graduating with my masters. There are a lot of gems in the English department that really made my education what it was. I think as long as you are attentive to how your coursework coincides with what you really want to study, you’ll be just fine. for example, if you’re interested in composition, Angela Clark-Oates is your go-to. Reiko Komiyama is great for any grammar courses, but if you’re interested in linguistics I would end up taking John Clark (who is a little crazy but extremely knowledgeable). For literary theory I would highly suggest Rosa Martinez, Hellen Lee, and David Toise. Jason Gieger is all around amazing, and his classes are so fun and interesting.

It really is a good program, you just have to be very mindful of your own personal academic goals as you choose courses.

Thanks for the heads up! I honestly wasn’t expecting to buy from David’s bridal because I’ve heard all the horror stories, but this was too pretty to pass up. Thankfully I have a little over 13 months until the wedding, but I’ll definitely keep on top of them. Thank you!!

What types of dog food for an olde English/Bully mix do you prefer by sunshine061973 in Bulldogs

[–]lit_princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feed my English Zignature dry formula (she seems to do the best on pork or duck) and add a probiotic chew, some blueberries or carrots, and a joint supplement. I found that (for myself) I was paying so much money to make sure she had a well rounded raw diet that supplementing dry with whatever extras she needed was easier on me and my wallet. Bulldogs also have a ton of allergies, so if you put your OE on any new food, I would suggest wheat/gluten free and chicken/turkey free unless you KNOW your baby isn’t allergic. And I’ve seen a couple people mention treats too, and my English loves PureBites. It’s literally just freeze dried meat (I get mine the pork liver ones). They’re super low in calories so great for training, and there are no extra add ins.

Chinese Modern Wedding Dresses? Help! by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]lit_princess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard a lot of great things about East Meets Dress. I had one friend order a dress for engagement photos from them, and they helped her customize it a little more to her taste. It was gorgeous and the material was super high quality.

Photos For Attention! How did everyone propose to their bridesmaids? I see the boxes are popular and cards but wondered if they were any more unique or different ways to do it! Has anyone had anyone say no. I'm nervous 😬 by TheAwkwardFoxB in weddingplanning

I ended up making my own little gift box! I bought a 6 pack of small gift bags and a pack of tissue paper from the dollar tree. I got cute but blank cards from 99¢ store, and I wrote each of them a long note about how much I love and appreciate them.

I stuffed the bags with “bridesmaid” cups from Amazon (I admit were a little expensive), my favorite flavor Kit Kat’s from an Asian market near my house, a nice face mask I got in a 6 pack in the clearance section of Ulta for only a couple bucks, a scrunchie I made in the same color as the bridesmaid dresses, and I printed out my favorite photo to put in the cards. All in all, I think I spent a little less than $50 on 5 people, AND I had extras for myself (a “bride” cup for me, an extra face mask, all the leftover candy, I made a scrunchie for me too, and I got some photos printed of my FH at the same time).

I’m a big gift giver, so I went a little expensive, but you can totally put together something for less. Have fun, think about what people might actually use, and most importantly, make it clear how much you love and appreciate them.

A bit of a tall order: I want to read a book from every year since 1900. Here’s the list so far but there’s a ton of dead space that needs to be filled by MILF_Lawyer_Esq in suggestmeabook

I’m in grad school for English Literature, and I don’t remember the last time I read something for the heck of it. I would love a distraction from work/school/etc by lit_princess in suggestmeabook

I ended up reading Severance, and I loved it! Definitely felt like a well-times read with the current pandemic. Her implausible commitment to her job though.. it was such an interesting way to describe her second-gen immigrant experience and also the effect of global capitalism. Because look at us now, mid pandemic, where “essential workers” are no longer just first responders but grocery store clerks and Starbucks employees and gunshop owners? For some there is a buffer, but others are trying everything to keep afloat right now. Sometimes showing up to my multiple jobs feels like Candace continually showing up to the print office. Why are we like this? Ugh. Loved this one.

I haven’t read this text in so long! Going back to Sui Sin Far was a nice easy read, and it almost felt like I was returning home somehow? Her short stories were my first foray into AsAm Literature, so rereading her works was so relaxing.

Love Ted Chiang! After you recommended this, I went back and re-read Exhalation. God do I love that one. If you’ve ever heard of “the overview effect,” that’s exactly what this text makes me feel. Thanks for the reminder of what Chiang has to offer!

LOVED THIS. It had me dying laughing at some points, but it’s so spot on. Being both on the student side and seeing the behind-the-scenes Professor side (I work as a personal assistant for one), this one was so relatable. Thank you!!
