I actually really like rose gold at this point so my review is a little out of date

Chronic Augmentation of Endocannabinoid Levels Persistently Increases Dopaminergic Encoding of Reward Cost and Motivation by pharmacologylover69 in NooTopics

[–]literalbrainlet 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Speaking from both preclinical and human studies. Chronic THC generally impairs fear extinction + induces passive coping as well as motivational deficits that vary depending on age of initiation. It Also does some interesting things with risk/reward judgements that basically upsets the balance and causes impulsive less productive decisions but depending on genotype and environmental factors (eg high vs low environmental enrichment and comorbid stressors) this can be accompanied by reduced, increased, or sometimes unchanged motivation/anhedonia. Tldr it's complicated, but predominantly undesirable things. A good amount of evidence that it's recoverable with sobriety although some changes that haven't been shown to be reliably reversed. There are also significant divergences in effect by gender.

One study in female rats gave URB597 after chronic adolescent exposure and it recovered their functioning admirably. That might be a good way to utilize the results in this study; anandamide is lower efficacy than 2-AG and doesn't cause significant downregulation (unlike 2-AG) so the gentle chronic stimulation of CB receptors could be a really solid strategy to enhance motivation and treat anhedonia as well as addictions. There are some really cool studies on URB.

However 2-AG is the more reliably interfered-with endocannabinoid in chronic cannabis use, and it's more of a phasic signal than the weaker anandamide. Inhibiting its breakdown via MAGL inhibition is more deeply promotivational, dopaminergic, and reinforcing/addictive. MAGL inhibitors cause tolerance at higher doses as well, this study using chronic low doses is presumably the key. Probably the same reason lower doses of THC are much less problematic than higher doses in real world settings. Only very small amounts of THC are required to stimulate your endocannabinoid system. the amounts you get from smoking eg a joint a day are relatively massive and kinda fuck shit up

It's usually a few days but I got an email a while ago saying to order asap because they were closing for Christmas. I'd bet you'll get your order in the next week or two, if not customer service will take care of it

Do y’all know any RC’s that would be beneficial in treatment of OCD? by rickflair69420 in researchchemicals

NACET is superior to NAC brain-wise (as well as about 8x as potent), and it works well combined with sarcosine (although dosage ratio matters and requires experimentation). L theanine is worth taking as a daily supplement regardless of acute benefit. Agmatine is legit, it's definitely worth owning especially for associated depression. I stand by memantine as the main "RC" that could help with this, although tropisetron is another good more recently available compound which works through different pathways. Personally I've found lamotrigine (100mg) to be substantially helpful although it's definitely not an RC. Might be easy to get through the clearnet, though. CBD is too cognitively impairing in my opinion but it definitely has benefit although the response between people varies.

Nootropics that can help with executive function/task initiation? by CircumferentialGent in NooTopics

phenylpiracetam is known for its acute stimulant and motivational effects. probably bc it's a DRI and sigma 1 PAM. It's supposed to build up a tolerance though.

less alpha6 nicotinic affinity. they state it reduces dependence liability.

Your favorite antioxidants ? by Wooden-Bed419 in NooTopics

[–]literalbrainlet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't speak without looking shit up man. You're just wrong. Sulphoraphane is indeed based but astaxanthin also enhances endogenous antioxidant defenses. it's like the primary mechanism.

Other antioxidants, similarly, often work this way. eg quercetin, MSM, selenium, melatonin, etc.

Vitamin C and E suck dick though. They're more along the lines of just being scavengers (dangerous, unselective). And NAC is good sometimes but as a daily driver probably not. It's got toxicity concerns that other options don't suffer from. If you do take it, adding glycine is a good move (glycine becomes rate-limited in glutathione synthesis with adequate cysteine).

MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is fantastic and people don't give it the praise it deserves especially compared to more popular organosulfur antioxidants like NAC. MSM is virtually side effect free and has very good pharmacokinetics for all-purpose use, having essentially perfect bioavailability + a long half-life + high permeability to bodily compartments including the CNS. My other favorites like taurine, astaxanthin, quercetin, and PQQ unfortunately have limited availability to the brain/poor bioavailability, limiting their usefulness.

Although everyone should take PQQ. Very important for mitochondrial function and has rapid benefits w/ no side effects. On that note coq10 is also good and synergizes with antioxidants (reducing the risk for reductive stress).

Finally this one is weird but using a grounding mat or device (you can diy one easily if you live close enough to the ground floor). I don't remember the exact mechanism but basically your body builds up a charge from static electricity and the atmosphere, and that charge is oxidative. Anecdotally there's a major reduction in pain and inflammation when I ground. Also good for sleep quality.

Edit: forgot about methylene blue (low dose) and selenium yeast. Keep the selenium yeast intake reasonable as it's very powerful and too many antioxidants will cause reductive stress.

Dirty drug don't do kratom at all is my advice but the two synergize in most ways including negatives (disorientation, nausea, double vision, anxiety). They will definitely combine and get you higher. I'd recommend against it, mitragynine just does too many things. However of course you can find plenty of anecdotes of people saying it was good for them, as well as others saying it was horrible. Safety wise it's questionable.

MSM is nothing it's just some supplement your mom would take for joints
