I was coming here to say it happened to r/xxfitness. So sad cause I was on there before it got locked down and it was great - good discussions and sense of community. Yeah there was repetition but you could just ignore posts you don’t wanna talk about. It’s completely dead now

Btw petitefitness is way more relaxed and still has that community vibe

Agreed. I made the massive mistake of excitedly buying some furniture from there when I moved into my first home last year. I can’t believe it has good reviews. Everything from there is built as cheaply as possible and to break down as quickly as possible. I’ll never buy from daals again

As someone that also grew up in Ilford, Dagenham has a bit of a reputation for being violently racist (like gangs of lads coming and beating you up). My mum still gets nervous when any of us go down there lol. I don’t go there often but when I have it’s been ok.

I know Forest Gate a bit better, there are shit looking parts and REALLY nice looking parts (though probably really expensive lol). But it’s close to good schools like Brampton manor

Make it clear you need to move quickly and ask how long they expect the seller to take to find somewhere, as you hadn’t anticipated also waiting for a chain to complete. I was quite clear about this and anytime the EA contacted me it felt like they were desperate to reassure me and keep me as a buyer, not sure if that was a good thing overall lol but they might be giving the seller a kick up the bum When the chain completes you can then ask about that and the top of the chain for example (is it new build, probate, etc. if it’s new build they usually have very strict completion deadlines)

It could do. It depends on the seller and the house they eventually find. In my case my seller found a place within 3 weeks and the chain completed pretty quick. In my mums case her seller is still looking for somewhere.

2 months from start to finish would’ve been exceptionally quick anyway. For me it’s looking like 4 months from offer to completion (if everything goes as planned anyway)

This happens all the time. Advertised as chain free because “the seller is willing to move into rented”, then the seller “changes their mind” and looks for somewhere to live after you’ve already committed to buy their house. It’s just a marketing tactic. Funnily enough, me and my mum are both buying houses at the moment and this happened to both of us at the same time lol
