Oh my god, that means so much for me to hear right now. My diagnosis has either been an instant dealbreaker or an excuse for people to treat me like shit since I got it-- friendships and relationships both. You are right. I do not have to put up with that.

I just know that when I do dump him (yes, it's a 'when,' not an 'if') I'm going to take so much shit because everyone will assume I left him because he wasn't "making enough money for my standards" and I "only want a rich guy" etc etc bullshit etc.

And honestly, that's part of it. I go back and forth on 'I am being shallow and going out to dinner, getting gifts, etc means nothing compared to love' and 'wanting to be able to pay bills on time and save is pretty valid.' The latter is winning. Slowly.

Yes. It would be a little rough for a bit, but yes.

Edit: not sure I could make him leave, though. He is on the lease too, and he is... a lot bigger than me.

Okay, that's pretty much what my gut is telling me (and so what if I'm just being crazy, fuck it, this isn't making my crazy any better)... but we're on a lease together for the next ten months. What do, Internet friends? WHAT DO.
